NEW GAME:  MISSING LINK     A Creative Thinking Game of Associations

Rules
1.  You need to figure out the Missing Link which connects two separate game words, word #1-->Missing Link-->word #2

2.  The Missing Link can be any association to word#1 and any association to word#2.  (see examples below)

3.  Any member can guess the Missing Link by posting:  link=Missing Link guess?

4.  The OP of the correct Missing Link gets to post the new word#2 in the following format:
            link=Missing Link guess   AND
            new word #2

5. Each OP of word#2 is encouraged to give hints if members have difficulty finding the Missing Link.

This is not just a free flow association game, but rather each pair of words is its own new riddle to be solved before continuing.

Examples:   If a member correctly guesses the Missing Link for word#2 of cereal, then cereal now becomes new word#1 and the member needs to create a Missing Link to a new word#2 and post new word#2.

New word#1 is cereal
       If link=fork,       new word#2 could be      spoon   (easy)            cereal>you eat with a fork>fork is a utensil like spoon
       If link=milk,       new word#2 could be      cow      (easy)            cereal>you eat with milk>milk comes from a cow
       If link=bowl       new word#2 could be      soup     (easy)            cereal>goes in a bowl>a bowl is a how you eat soup
       If link=bowl       new word#2 could be      lane     (moderate)     cereal>goes in a bowl>you bowl down a lane
       If link=see          new word#2 could be      hear     (moderate)   cereal>starts with the syllable 'ce'>'see' is a sense like hear
       If link=roll          new word#2 could be      bounce (harder)         cereal> ends sounding like roll>roll is an action like bounce
       If link=sole         new word #2 could be    trout    (hard)            cereal> sort of sounds like sole> sole is a fish like trout
       If link=crunchy  new word #2 could be     celery   (moderate)    cereal>can be crunchy>crunchy is also celery

Ready?  I propose we start off with easy/moderate until members feel comfortable joining.  Also, before we give the answer maybe we can go back and forth a few times with a hint, then an easier hint if needed, to allow members more time and geshmak of solving the Missing Link riddle.

I propose that any logical link=Missing Link guess that is posted is good enough to continue the game and the original member who thought of the link can CMIIW.  This way we don't have to wait.

Re: Where can i get it? (israel edition)
At home (in israel) we used to do the wash three times in soap and let it soak deal and we used to eat it i will find out today who told them to do that
ETA I just remembered that we used r moshe vayeh's book if he says something you can trust him 100% worth getting
Yes, past tense.  Now the only way is peeling fresh ones (and cutting in half), pulverizing fresh ones or buying frozen.  (I also don't get why frozen is ok)

OT sort of:  Same with corn on the cob kernals.  Either checking each kernal ( ::) ) or buying frozen or canned.  (please don't ask me why)

Re: [02/01 11AM New Poll] DDMS Redesign Branding - Help us choose A Logo
I agree
In addition, the logo includes MOVEMENT which is a stronger memory trigger than a static image.  Look at some of the new logos that are one color, but still try to include the movement variable with arrows.  (Was it Verizon that had the red arrow included?)  Look at our own Suave's avitar!

p.s. Thanks for your agreeing...but I have no likes so far... :)

I wish the questioner would bold the first new post
We should get back in the practice of reposting the current riddle at least once on each page forum page.  Since many are using tapatalk, I think your suggestion is great to bold each new riddle.

The official format would then be:

word1= xxxxx
word2 = yyyyy

p.s. New blood, new ideas!  Welcome!!

Re: Forum Games: Missing Link
Word 1: Arithmetic
Word 2: Ritalin
Welcome to our new member!! You started out with a great riddle.
Once you play a few times you'll get the rules down.  In the meantime, word2 of the riddle that you guessed correctly will become word1 of the riddle that you need to post.

We are still trying to guess User6669's riddle.

tribes?

Re: Forum Games: Missing Link
Hint: It's a gimatriya.
get
For any of our "other culture" ones: a Jewish 'divide' (read divorice) is a 'get' which has the gematria (numerologic equivalent to Hebrew letters) of 3 (g) +9 (t) = 12

Nice one.

Re: Forum Games: Missing Link
Start with s, end with y, same # of letters
Oh, right.  I forgot about the hint of first, last, length.
I liked @SSLPhD's "Rhesus"/Reese's" better (even though I didn't get that one either).

The question is... how did @ericchavez91 get it?!  If he had to wrack his brain with the hints and ended up getting it, then it is legal.

Re: Forum Games: Missing Link
I believe with that spelling, he's referring to the hot place with lots of sand, not a tasty, post meal, snack
Easy way to remember:
arid, dry 'desert' you don't want a lot of...only one 's'
yummy 'dessert' you want as much as you can get...two 's's.

Taka it would have been a good one if it were 'hail' and 'dessert'.  Then we could have guessed 'frozen".
