Re: Jewish Philosophy
What happened to I think it was @username that asked me what "shtayim shehaim arba" means? I guess I'll write the answer without the question.

 Shevuos. Tumah. shabbos. Tzaras.

sh'vua - The Torah says two types. Will do something and won't do something.   It includes another two types in the past tense. Didn't do something did do something.

tumah - Torah says if someone forgets he's tamei and either eats kodshim or goes into bais hamikdosh, he's mechuyiv a korban. It includes two other cases. If he remembers he's tamei but doesn't realize it's kodshim/beis hamikdosh.

shabbos - The Torah only says two types of yetzios, which is either holding it in reshus hayachid and passing it into reshus harabbim or sticking your hands into reshus hayachid and bringing it to reshus harabbim. It includes two types of hachnosos also. Either passing from reshus harabbim into yachid or bringing in from rabbim to yachid.

tzaras - Torah only says se'ais and baheres. This includes sapachas which is a different color for each one respectively.

Is that good enough?
So can we get to the point. "Why" did u go off?

Re: Hairgate
The fight over this is ridiculous. But I totally believe the specific issue is worth 'nipping in the bud'. Otherwise we start to think these things are normal. And good even. Obviously there are those who think this whole hair length rule is a great thing. I'm not speaking for those people. Just the people who believe it's davka not.
It's not your business! It's the business of the parents.

770 in the Sukkah:
Shacharis-Musaf: 11:00-1:30
Mincha-Neilah: 6:00-7:20
I know we did this already but really how can this be

Re: Yom Kippur Davening
If you read the tefillah fast in Hebrew, you are killing yourself! Why do we say X, who wrote y, what's the meaning iof mesod chachamim Etc, why do some say pifiyiot?  What about the piyutim by yose Ben yose, yanai, Eleazar hakalir and a dozen more.

How can you rush through this?  4000 years of Judaism is screaming to be noticed.

Trust me, shuckeling and screaming will have not the smallest connection than if you were to understand what you were saying.
Your my new rabbi! If u say no yeshiva, no yeshiva it is!

Re: Master Thread of Pet Peeves
People who put a tablecloth for shabbos on the table in shul...then put the pen they just picked up from the table, right back on top of the tablecloth.
People who complain about the people who actually do things.

Re: buying Bots
If this were in the tech board it might have gotten a response by now. Those geeks usually don't come to General D!
And I was never there
