Re: Store Won't Take Returns From Lakewood, Brooklyn, Monsey, Monroe or Passaic
Sorry I was talking about a ligit case. I had my wife buy all the kids Yom Tov outfits, on the Amex. And then, one outfit we decide not to keep. Never worn, besides for trying on.

Long story short at the end of the day Amex screwed me, because when I filed the claim I did not actually first try to return the item. Instead I relied on the fact that the store had a one day return policy. They would not let me resubmit my claim.
Amex has a great return protection policy, if the store won't take it back within 90 days Amex will reimburse. I never had any issues using it. It's not a charge back and the store doesn't get charged when you use it.

P.s. I always tell my toddler that the ATM is the machine that eats money.

Re: Pesach Program in Greece Cancelled Just Now! Heard from a friend of mine that worked as a mashgiach in a hotel a few years ago. Mind you this was a hotel that was run by an organization that supposedly raises money to keep or make ppl frum, i would assume a hotel like this would make sure to be very strict about the kashrus... He told me that after first days spent fighting with the director and the head mashgiach he called Rabbi Belsky and on chol hamoed Rabbi Belsky Made the organization re kasher the whole kitchen. Among the things going on, the workers were bringing in chometz, Beer and one of the chefs insisted on only using his own knife... Of course it was nisht gebrochts though

Re: New American Express Blue Business Plus Card! Don't know if this was mention in this thread yet, this card does not have return protection. For me, it is one of the big draws of using Amex in most local stores that don't have good return policies.
Just thought I would make everyone aware.

Re: FBI Raids Orthodox Homes and Businesses in Monsey and KJ Starting CPAs in the big accounting firms start at about 60k in the smaller places can be 50k. Takes a pretty long time to make 100k and by then you need 200k once your paying tuition and health insurance... Not everyone can become a lawyer or Dr and even those that do are not guaranteed an income above that. Maybe a grad from a top law school can get that starting. One of the biggest expenses families face nowadays is healthcare and it keeps getting more expensive and covers less.
Based on my current income I can't even see the day my wife can cut her hours or stop working, growing up 2 income families was not necessary.

Re: Hairgate How is this different than the Yankees having a no beard rule and the Army having their own hair regulations?
This thing was blown way out of proportion for no reason at all. Per my wife, her school had these rules 20 years ago in Brooklyn. Can you imagine what would happen if someone videoed a chassish school! All of a sudden my frumkeit has to be everybody's frumkeit on the same exact level.
Seems like the general societys way of thinking is rubbing off on us as well.
(in this case, the ruler was brought by the parent)
