Up In The Air / Re: Flying with infant
« on: March 14, 2018, 05:25:03 PM »

ETA: This still hasn't been resolved. Alitalia is being most unhelpful. For starters, they have very limited cs hours and horrible service. Then, speaking to Chase and having them speak to airline and getting back to me with every detail is a pain. Should I call airline directly or do I have a benefit with Chase speaking to them?
Thanks again.
Sorry for the delay. Not sure when your flight is. But since we discovered the issue the issue a few weeks before the flight, it definitely helped. I called just about every department in Alitalia and got nowhere. We were dealing with a few thousand dollars at risk because they didn't offer a free change or refund either. Gave some money to tzedakah and filed a detailed complaint with the DOT. The DOT responded that this does not violate any of their rules but they have forwarded the complaint to the airline and they will respond directly to me. B"H a few weeks later, the airline got back to us that they have agreed to confirm the infant on the flight as they have not found any other alternative.
If you still have some time ahead of your flight, I would suggest that you try the DOT too. (don't forget the donation to tzedakah...)

LO is putting a 737 MAX 8 on the TLV - WAW route every Sunday starting April 8. Over the following months, they will gradually add more days of the week.

are you going to Lizensk or to NYC?
Lizensk. There is no connection to NYC yet. Only starting in May IIRC

Just boarded LO 170 TLV to RZE inaugural flight. This is definitely the most chareidi flight I've been on in my life. There is one Polish group on the flight, and practically everyone else is frum here.

Got it where?

LY switched flight 26 to JFK for the week of March 25. Wondering why

Maybe slot issues?

It's actually from the beginning of scheduling (of the second 787 on this route) through Apr 11 that this flight was moved to JFK and renamed as 21/22. I would assume that it's either slot issues or government approval issues.

If they wanted people to like it, they wouldn't change it
So honestly, who are they trying to impress with the change?

Just a thought:
Anyone remember that when they placed the orders for the 787s, El Al promised that it won't cost their customers any more money because they would be saving on fuel? It's just interesting that the past 2 winter, flights to NYC never went over the $900 mark (for U class), and this year they never went below $934 besides during a few sales they had... (the average for U this winter is about $100 more than it was 2 years ago IINM)

How many seats? 2, 3, or 4?
If he has a 2 yr old, then it's at least 3
