For free as compliments of WAJ, or "Dude, you can go find yourself a pool. I'll even help you with that, but I won't tell you it cost money cuz I'm Israeli"?
+1 lol

has anyone ever had problems by buying a free night from someone to stay in the maldives, being as my wife is technically not on the reservation, but they see her arriving with me, due to the exclusivity of the resort??

I'm stopping over in AMS on the way to TLV. We're landing at about 6am and taking off again at about 9pm. It'll be myself, wife, and 7m old daughter. Trying to figure out a tentative plan. We'll take the train into the city...that's all i got so far.

Are cabs expensive? Are Trams easy enough with a doona?

Can I get to a shul in time for shachris? Good breakfast place near said shul?

there is a train underneath the airport that takes you anywhere you need to go. If you want to go where there is a minyan and breakfast near each other, take a train to the RAI (direct 15 mins) and get directions to the kollel then you can go from the RAI to CENTRAAL STATION. I try avoiding trams, in my experience they were very crowded and slow. i took a cab once from the airport, it was a 10 minute ride 40 euro. i thought that was pretty expensive!!

Youíll have to evaluate the cash upgrades vs points for each property. I try to use points as much as I can before I use cash. Unless, of course, itís just ridiculous to do otherwise. Should also consider buying discount GCís for your property to pay for your upgrade.
thabnks for that. ill look into it. are the cash upgrades always avail. as long as the room is avail? or is it subject to award availabilty...

Point balances? Assuming you have enough for St Regis, Conrad, Hyatt....?
yes. but it seems like its cheaper to book a lower standard room and then pay $ to upgrade?
knowing that, what would you suggest?

im planning a trip to the maldives in june, would love to about  your experience with hotels. i would like to stay at a villa with a pool, dont care for the owb much, which hotel has the best option for points/nights+upgrades? the conrad seems beautiful although i think the st regis is much nicer.
planning on flying from tlv-ist-mle in J still looking for the best availability. united only has practical flights on the outbound. inbound comes up as 3 stopovers... dont think i can hack that:)
thanks guys!

United in ben gurion has been recently cracking down on BOS so you need to be very firm that you are going to BOS
I have 2 friends who were forced to pay $300 in the airport
how can they force them to pay $300? they cant prove that your not going to continue to BOS? so interesting...
