On The Road / David Citadel vs Waldorf Astoria Jerusalem

I stayed several times at WA Jerusalem.

Friend suggested for upcoming shabbos I stay at David Citadel, can someone please give recent comparison to the two (after Citadel was renovated)?

How do you compare Shabbos meal at Citadel to WA (I am told citadel was nicer) and also general hotel atmosphere in Citadel?

Thank you

And I personally couldn't get enough of Waimea Canyon in one day, and had to go back for more - it's that incredible!

Have you been to grand canyon/utah etc..? is it still  amazing compared to those places? I didn't make it there in the end, debating if to go back.. Thanks

Fair enough, though I assume based on her asking specifically for a secluded beach that a busy beach is probably not what she meant by other activities...

Speaking of assumptions that's a pretty big one...

Thanks guys, went to Polihale yesterday was very nice.. Started going up to Waimea but then turned around, it was very cloudy there, and kids weren't too thrilled with the twists and turns..

Happy to hear of any other good secluded beach recommendations easily accessible by car, or other recommendations for young kids..

You don't need 4wd for polihale, but the road is VERY rough. (I.e. bumpy)

Do I run risk of damaging car? will rental place see I drove on dirt roads? that's all I'm concerned about...

to Pulu o Kila is all paved? is there no point going afternoon?

14
That's what we did.

The way you're talking about the drive, it's like you were driving from New York...

Lol we did fly some 18 hours to get here... Guess we can manage another hour drive..

I would combine it with a day at waimea.  Morning/afternoon on Waimea, sunset at Polihale.
Only reason for 4WD is if you want to do the milolii ridge road drive, which is epic indeed.

How long do I need to Waimea? Can I just do a quick stop on way? I'm with 4 kids so prefer not to drag things out too much!

BTW @Dan, I am seeing what you like about Hawaii (unlike Brazil which I didn't care for..)... So far compared to Thailand I'm loving the weather (I usually went to Thailand in summer where ocean isn't calm or blue, and some showers.. Will tour around and get a better picture

is going there for afternoon/sunset a good idea? anything else to see on the way? I'm making the drive from the east coast..
