if they are close, its because of mets injuries, which means neither is sniffing the playoffs. my point was philly isnt a contender yet. telling me they finished a few games behind an injury ravaged team tells me nothing
The comparison to the Mets was answering Amusch's Q and anger regarding forgetting about the Mets.

Again, nice to lump all of his numbers together, but going 22-6 with a 1.77 ERA might skew the overall numbers a bit. (And I assume we don't need a discussion about a W-L record pitching for a team that has won 300 games in the last 3 years).
As for the Phils, you're not way off, but neither Santana nor Arietta (as argued above) is a blue-chip superstar, and the Mets had a few of those on the DL for most of last year. If it happens again, maybe you're right; otherwise, I'll take the Mets over the Phils pretty comfortably.
W/L isn't a good way to compare pitchers or one of the best stats, but I was trying to keep things simple cause not everyone is up to advanced stats. If it's better let's go with 19.9 WAR over 4.5 years. And the 22-6 1.77, 8.6 WAR season did happen so it does count.
Phils do have a superstar in the making Hoskins, who in less than a third of a season hit 18 HR's and for those counting it's a 2.0 WAR with 1.014 OPS. I'm not saying everything will click in Phila but it might, and it might take till 2019. I'm not too optimistic about Met's hitting, or pitching health, but that's just me.

Arietta has been in the league for 9 years. He had one very good season and one absurdly good season, and otherwise has been average to above average. He's not getting long-term money but he's getting $30 million next year entering age 32.

Maybe I'm just angry at you because you left out an NL East team...

68-31 2.73 ERA in 4.5 years with the Cubs, plus 5-3 3.08 with 66 strikeouts in 53 innings in the playoffs. Even though YU is better, younger and has more pitches which should help him have a longer career, Arrieta is still really good.
The Phillies won 4 less games than the Mets last year, but they have an improving young team, plus added Santana and Arrieta, they also have tons of $ to spend mid season to add to team if they're close. I know the Mets had injuries last year, but they always do.

Jake Arrieta to Philadelphia: Good news because Brewers, Cardinals and Nationals didn't sign him. Also it makes Philly a division contender (they also signed Carlos Santana), Washington can't coast until the playoffs anymore.

Those price increases have been in UH/Beachwood since the vouchers started.
True, but pricing goes by supply and demand. In Cleveland Heights there is for sure demand as many have moved in since vouchers, but supply was high so the prices didn't go up that much. Supply seems to be dwindling as some have even moved to Harvey, Bainbridge and Crest and there aren't that many houses left even a bit out of the main three streets. Also, in UH there were investors buying up the houses especially once vouchers started.

People coming for vouchers move to UH. But due to the massive influx housing everywhere has gone up by 35-70%.
Is up but not 35% in Cleveland Heights. Supply is going down here, so in a year or two housing will prob be up significantly. A 5 bedroom just went up recently btw

None were real  :P.

But I'm hopeful that the nets pick turns into top 5.
@ CM what has better Vegas odds, Cavs winning championship this year or Nets pick being in the top 5...

Wow I think the cavs can beat the west this year! They played awesome tonight! And it looks like they're gonna get the #1 pick too. And Jordan is one of the worst players ever (Mike, not Clarkson)
1) True, if the Rockets pull off a miracle and then one of their big two gets injured.
2) I'm guessing this is a real comment and talking about a small portion of the game.
3) There are 7/8 teams trying to tank can't figure why there's no tongue by this comment.
4) Him?

And I just realized that they are playing tonight. The Nets are so bad that they keep losing even though they have no reason to tank, vs. the Bulls who are might be in tank mode and might not. Exciting basketball, but still nowhere close to as bad as the Browns last year who could have won a game or two and still got the first pick but went 0-16 instead.

I hope they don't. The race for the bottom is actually super tight in the NBA. 7 or so  teams within a game of each other the past few weeks.
There's a race of 3 teams for the top and a way bigger race for the bottom.

Why? I thought they traded their pick, and only have Nets/Boston left?
EJB is implying that the Bulls may end up worse than the Nets.

You can play what ever card you want. I heard a lot of talk before the all-star game then silence. Was just wondering why so I watch the game and got my answer. They SUCK!!! 😂
Who do you pick to win the East? Milwaukee, Toronto, Boston?

Wasn't that a fun game?  :)
Can I play the regular season doesn't matter card?
