Looks alive to me. I just ordered 4.

Snorkeling is inherently dangerous. Color me skeptical here...

Point taken and I'm not averse to risk for me or my kids. But we're not talking about an uncontrollable risk inherent in the activity (eg. nature, waves, creatures big and small). Here we're talking about a risk (however small) from inferior gear with a potential design flaw. That risk is easily avoided (and peace of mind easily attained) by spending a few extra bucks on traditional snorkeling gear.

This is just impossible to wash from the mind. My kids are crazy-strong swimmers and I would be watching them every second worrying about the risks from a POS $10 knockoff mask from China.

Edit: And when it's my wife that says: "Return," it's not a battle I'm willing to fight. Not worth it.

4
Update: I'm returning all of them. My wife (rightly) said she'd be freaking out in the water, watching our kids every second...and would never enjoy herself. Better off just spending the extra cash on the 'normal' gear.

Oh man...I bought 5 of these for our trip to Maui in a couple of weeks. Had to use 3 different Amazon accounts.

Now I'm reading about deaths caused by drowning from excess CO2 and people passing out. Not sure I'm going to return them (maybe I'll test them in our backyard pool first), but just thought I'd pass on the info to those who purchased. Use with care.

Thanks for posting that phone number. I decided to call and am getting a credit. The right result, but an annoying process. Giving the set back to my wife to bring to her office toy drive. Thanks to everyone for your help.

The fact that this could even happen is seriously disconcerting.

If this had been a gift for a family or friend, I'd fight it...but since I was just going to give it away anyway, it's not worth the fight. I might call tomorrow, but it's just going to make my blood boil even more.

What is the most frustrating is thinking about all of the other deals, coupons, price breaks and other discounts I (think I have) gotten on Amazon. I'm now wondering how many of my orders had a bait and switch like this.

In this case, the evidence of funny business is clear as day (see attached). I didn't even buy the lego cupcake thing the first time it became available at this price. The first time, I was on the fence and by the time I clicked through, it was dead. The second time, I didn't bother changing the quantity to 2 because I didn't want to lose it again...so I bought only one. But it's not like the coupon was a mistake...it came, went, and came again.

I also bought  Minecraft lego set for like $4.40 (which actually is for a nephew) and that seems to have been charged correctly.

I'll just return it; far easier. I'm far more concerned about the under-handedness. I NEVER look at my "your order has shipped" emails to confirm that the price hasn't changed. This could have happened 30 times. I just "bought" some free lightning cables...maybe they charged me for those, too.

I was absolutely serious about the use for this thing in the chat I posted.... it's sitting in my wife's car to be donated to a toy drive. No good deed goes unpunished. This seems like a pretty fundamental problem with Amazon. If they can charge one price and then raise it without consent, that's a huge problem. I paid with an Amazon gift card and don't really want my amazon account closed, so I don't really have the ability to protest the charge...but it seems like a HUGE problem.

Me: My order receipt shows that the price for this item ([Amazon order number]) was $7.67 .I just notice I was charged OVER $30 for this item! This is theft. I must demand that I pay the price that is shown in my receipt!!

Shivam: Hello, my name is Shivam. I'm here to help you today.
HI rxmoss, I understand your concern regarding this.I'll surely help you with this.
Let me check this order for you !
rxmoss, Can you confirm the item you are referring to is LEGO Friends Heartlake Cupcake Café 41119 Toy for 6-Year-Olds ?
Me: That is correct.
Shivam: A member of our pricing specialist team will be the perfect person to help you with this. Let me connect you to a member of our team. It will only take a moment.
A Customer Service Associate will be with you in a moment.

Karan: Hello, my name is Karan. Please give me a moment to review the previous correspondence.
Me: Hello. I would like to know why my emailed receipt shows a price of $7.67 but when I happened to back into my orders I see I was charged 5 times that amount--$35.03. This is downright theft and I am very concerned that with any order I place with Amazon, the price I see in my receipt is not the price I will ultimately be charged. This seems like fraud to me.
How is it not fraud?
Karan: Could you please provide me the image of the receipt, kindly upload it on postimage.org and provide me the link of the upload.
Me: One moment please.
Karan: Thank you.
Me: https://postimg.org/image/xxxxxx
Karan: Could you please give me 2 minutes while I will check this?
Me: Yes, of course. I am so angry and concerned.
Karan: Thanks for your patience while I look into this.
I’m sorry this is taking longer than expected, could you please be on hold for another 2 minutes?
Me: Yes.
Karan: Thank you for waiting, I have researched and I see that the email sent to you from our end on Thursday, November 16, 2017 was an error.I apologize for the inconvenience in this case. As we sent you another email on Monday, November 20, 2017 with the correct information with the order total. The price of the item was $31.99 and with tax the total was $35.03 which is the correct amount charged. As you can check the item price on the manufacture website as well:
https://shop.lego.com/en-US/Heartlake-C...(See full link)
Me: There was a coupon that I clipped that brought the price down. There was no other email.
The email on 11/20 was a shipping email, NOT a price adjustment email.
I see now that the email on 11/20 has a different price, but it was just a shipping email saying it was on the way. I didn't even read it.
If it had said, NOTE THE PRICE OF YOUR ITEM HAS GONE UP BY FIVE TIMES then I might have read it!
Give me a break.
There is no way I can expect an email that says, "your item is on the way" to have a price that is FIVE TIMES what I actually paid!
Amazon should have given me the choice to accept the price.
In fact, there have been times that Amazon has canceled orders because of a price mistake. But this time, amazon shipped AND RAISED THE PRICE WITHOUT MY APPROVAL!
This is absolute fraud.
I actually bought this to donate to charity, but fortunately, I haven't. So I can return it for full credit. But I expect some compensation for this insanity.
At a minimum, I expect a refund of the price difference. There is no excuse for this.
I'm shocked that I am getting any resistance from Amazon on this.
Karan: I can understand, Please check the email sent to you on Monday, November 20, 2017, it states the price and the details, it was when your order was shipped and according to my information it states that the price charged to you was same as the list price. I am sorry I won't be able to provide you that price or any credit for the item.
Me: So you're telling me that AFTER I PLACE AN ORDER, amazon can ship the item and charge me whatever price it wants if the item was on sale with a coupon at the time I ordered? Do you know how insane that sounds?
Would you like me to post this chat all over the Internet where your customers can see what Amazon claims is OK and legal? That you can charge one price online and then after shipping, QUINTUPLE THE PRICE and claim that's ok just because the new price shows up in the "your order has shipped" email? Seriously?
There is ZERO CHANCE that this is legal.
Karan: I can understand and I will forward this as a feedback to the concerned team and we will take care that this doesn't happen again, I'll make sure the appropriate people in our company see your message, as I know they'll want to read about your experience.I am sorry I won't be able to provide you the item for that price, you may return the item for a full refund.
Me: This is a disgrace.

What a complete scam! I was charged full price too, despite the $7+ price that was in the cart with coupon! Would never have known had I not come back and seen this thread. How often does this happen w/Amazon? I have never seen this before...what a racket.

Maybe try again? I placed two back-to-back orders of two $100 GCs ($180 each order, 2 orders). Used Chase Pay on my desktop, not the app. Order went through and the card codes arrived 6 minutes after the order confirmation.

13
It was a different seller yesterday a $4.60. Norah something. Every one of their listings was at $4.60. Now they are gone and someone else is there (or they changed names). Looks very fishy.

14
$1 digital credit if you order 3. Doesn't apply if you order 1...I didn't try ordering 2.

15
Different deal now... they fixed it, so it's no longer 12-pack, pack of 12. Of course, they never actually shipped 12 boxes way back when, but there's way to argue the point now.
