There's no need for Dan to write a post about BA and LH not having great J products, that's well known.

So why is LY different? It's also well known. Dan keeps on poking fun at their product...

You are an official expert in flipping every positive thing about LY into a negative. Wow!

I don't like to bash Dan - but he clearly has a bias against LY. I never heard a word of him bashing BA J among some others (SA etc.) class which is more or less like LY J. Even LH J class is nothing to write home about in some planes...

Dan, I'm am big fan of yours- I'm just being honest

See attached both maps
They are almost the same, I believe that LY feels more cramped because the Jet is narrower.
UA:
Width 17.05" (43.3 cm)
Pitch 31" (78 cm)

LY:
Width 17"
Pitch 31"

You forgot to add seat recline:

UA 3"
UA economy plus 4"
LY economy 5"

Was on AC 787 Y and was terrible

Somehow the LY 787 doesn't feel narrow. I'm thinking that maybe the seat pitch and legroom is better on LY 787 and that is why it is so much more comfortable than LY 777

Maybe they took some aisle space.. don't know. Where can we see seat width on the LY 787? Seat guru is not out yet

Interesting.
I've heard from several readers who thought that LY 787 Y was a torture chamber.

Very interesting since I am a very frequent flyer and the LY 787 was the best econ cabin experience I had in a while. Was on the red-eye TLV/EWR window seat, front cabin.

I can say that UA or Delta Econ Plus is better. But for reg economy LY 787 was really nice

Seems hard to believe given7 the size of a 787 and 77W.
Need to someone to measure both...

Flew both. LY 787 is a real winner, even in Y

Legroom is decent, pitch is amazing (bottom part of seat moves along) & seat itself is very comfortable fabric. Similar to UA reg old 777 but newer

United 77W seats are hard narrow and uncomfortable

If I need to choose regular economy to Israel (without upgrading to econ plus) the LY 787 would be my first choice

Just Shmooze / Re: Trump-Republican tax plan bad for large families
« on: November 05, 2017, 01:30:36 AM »
I'm working here for over an hour calculating all different scenarios based on families with 2-7 kids, and income between 80-150K

My analysis is that most homeowners will lose out under Trumps plan since it caps interest deduction & state/property taxes. The rest of the concerns regarding larger families not getting the personal deduction is not accurate since Trump is raising the CTC (child tax credit) to $1600 per child and raising the income threshold for CTC to 230K for married filers.

Bottom line, anyone owninng a house in NY/NJ and paying state, local & property taxes over 10K will need to pay between 1-3K more in federal taxes because of Trump.

Crazy - I hope this doesn't pass

You should have a receipt from the booking

This is what they requested:

A copy of the monthly billing statement (showing the last 4 digits of the account number) verifying that the entire travel fare was purchased with your covered card

Booked for someone with Ultimate rewards points before Aug 15.

Tried claiming it with Chase Sapphire reserve insurance but they are now requesting proof of $ charged on card... what to do?
