AFAIK they go right back into your balance.
IIRC, this activity will not extend the expiration date of the points.

Maybe @Dan  can use this thread to highlight the helpfulness of DDF, and explain some of the issues, like only he can.

OP, glad it worked out!

Yup understood like that.
Curios to why they don't write out the hechsher?
Kellogs doesnt want to and KVH cant/doesnt force them. And the consumers obviously dont care either. Its in kellogs interest not to have a symbol, so that if theres ever a mistake, Kellogs have close to 0 liability. (They wont need to issue a recall, wont need new boxes, and wont get into an unlawful copywright usage suit.) You gotta wonder if that itself is a problem with the hasgocha---ie they really have no legal mirsas from committing a kashrus error.

IIRC, Hershey PA wanted a similar thing, but eventually the OU stood up to them and said that they either print the OU or nothing.

If they would give to a fifth night free, you'd be correct. But here they are rebating part of your cost. It's not something separate they are giving you, they are refunding you
I see it as the same thing. Based on what you(r employer) paid, they are giving you a freebee. Just like with airline points, based on what you(r employer) paid, you get a freebie.- especially with the new FF earnings based on flight cost.

In the old days, where the FF miles were earned by flying, and had nothing to do with the cost price, perhaps your distinction would change things. But now that the FF points are tied directly with the cost paid, IMHO, it is the same thing.

interesting question.
I dont understand. It is  a given that if you can collect the frequent flyer miles when you fly, even if you are reimbursed by your company.
If you stay at an Hotel for four nights, why cant you 'earn' the fourth night free', just like you can earn ff points on a flight, even if your company is reimbursing you?

I couldn't find a "The funny/strange/interesting/random amazon question/comments/reviews thread" so I'm putting this here:
That thread is no more. Merged into the jokes thread.

Up In The Air / Re: Canceling BA reservation

I booked 2 BA tickets, cancelled both online within 24 hours of flight. One of the bookings was within 24 hours of booking, any chance to get the miles back?
No chance. But if you call to cancel and have a good reason, they can refund the miles.
