Up In The Air / Re: Hidden City Ticketing
« on: February 14, 2018, 08:10:53 PM »
It would if you don't have checked bags which was not in the premise of the question.
Are you sure you read the questions right?
ETA: I see what you mean but I was applying it to 1 only in a scenario where 2 was also relevant.
I would find it very hard to believe that Delta would send AMEX a debit memo and that AMEX would follow up with you. I have done a bunch of HC with Orbitz, Expedia, Priceline etc' and never had a single issue.

Why would that be a red flag?

I would say that most people that are able to travel without checking in bags would prefer to do so. I just did that recently. I was probably in an Uber before bags even started coming out on the carousel, thanks to carry-ons only and GE.
I didn't think it would be an issue but here was my reasoning; If the agents are suspicious that it is a HC they might wonder why you are flying long distance with only carry-ons (I know there is no issue with checked bags entering U.S.).

Anyway, thanks for the confirmation.

In answer to "2" why not print out the boarding pass at home or at the airport kiosk and be done with it?
Fair point. Wouldn't this avoid 1 as well?

Does anyone have an opinion on my 3rd question? Do OTAs ever get debited by  airlines? Could this affect my relationship with Amex or Amex Travel?

Just trying to Alert the Olam, UA night flight in TLV, almost all my clients get hassled

1. Anyone have similar issues with Delta?

2. Would flying TLV to US without any checked bags be a red flag?

3. Any reason not to book HC with Amex Travel?

Previously when I changed my airline choice (through chat), a rep told me it takes up to 24 hours for the airline choice to be changed. Can't say that's the definitive rule though since chat reps aren't always the most knowledgeable.

Do I have to wait at all after chatting to make changes? I see mixed opinions/data points over the last four pages of this thread.

Assuming the answer is yes is it any different if I got an email and the status updated in my account (both happened immediately)?

I would appreciate if anyone can help me fill in the below dates:

I applied for CSR Jan 2017
My 1st annual fee posted on Feb 1 2017 (Opening/Closing Date 01/11/17 - 02/01/17)
Got My 1st Travel Credit Feb 1 2017
My 2nd Annual Fee posted on Feb 1 2018 (Opening/Closing Date 01/02/18 - 02/01/18)

1) Till what date can I still cancel/downgrade for full AF refund?
2) When can I take advantage of another $300 before cancelling for full AF refund?

1) You have 30 days from when the fee posted to cancel. You should be able to downgrade after that for a partial refund but I will let some one else answer that.

2) Since you applied before May 21, 2017 your travel credit goes by calendar year. You can use the 2018 credit immediately (and could have used it as early as 12/2/17, right after your December statement closed)

I originally booked BWI-YYZ-TLV, TLV-YYZ-BWI (and saved $150 over flying from NY).

I was supposed to have a 4 to 5 hour stopover on the way back but a few weeks ago they switched it to a 1:25 stopover. I just called today (return flight is in 24 hours) and told them I did not want to be stuck in YYZ overnight and I got them to put me on a flight to LGA which leaves 30 minutes later. It took just one call.

IDK. At the time I set up my account they were accepting US cards directly. When that changed I needed to make changes online to set it up with PayPal.
Would an Israeli debit card work? Any reason not to use a relative's debit card and just reimburse them?

Golan accepts PayPal as a form of payment. You can use that with non-Israeli CC.

How do I pay with PP in a cellphone store?

I'm looking to get a Golan SIM card for a month.

Anyone know a place that will be open tonight for another couple of hours (preferably near Shmuel Hanavi/ Bar Ilan)?

The wiki implies you need Israeli cc but I've heard from 1 or 2 people that you don't?

I am flying tomorrow and I couldn't find my (CSR) Priority Pass card before I left home. I don't know the numbers so I can't sign up for digital. I also have a platinum and a business platinum.

Any idea what to do? Any way to get an immediate digital membership card if I sign up with one of them?

The empire strikes back.   :)

You cant buy a phone on eBay that will work with a kosher sim card.
Unless you bring it to a store and have them "make it kosher for you"
Most Samsung devices, zte z223, the new Att lg b470 are some of the inexpensive models that are kosherizable :) (love the word )
You can pm me when you get to Israel is you want them kosherized. Cost between 50 and 100 shekel depending on model

Is there any way to get one of these phones and completely block the internet but still allow texting? I need a phone for use in Israel with regular sim (to allow for texting) but without any internet capabilities.

Alternatively is there anywhere in Israel or the US to buy a phone that has been set up like this?

If anyone can say a Kapitel or two of Tehillim for Yafah Rochel Bas Leah, going into surgery now.
