What miles programm did you use?
Us air for example charges 10% of a full fare ticket plus yq, such a ticket can cost 6000 dollars, so the number is right.

Aeroplan only charges 100 flat fee for infants in business, so sometimes its worth using aeroplan, even if they charge extra more miles if you travel with infant

Who did you book with?

Each airline has their own way of calculating infants.
Many do 10% of full fare.

AC has a flat rate but to TLV their awards are very expensive.

There have been other tricks discussed here although never looked into it too deeply as not so relevant to me.

Why cant one book a reg. fare(10%) ticket for the baby and just have the baby sit with them wherever even in business?

What happens if the adult (coach) ticket is canceled afterward?

Anyone figure out work around for this one?

I have 2 FC tickets on United from EWR-Zurich and they want 10% of full fare which comes out to be $1144.

Booking through US airways.

Thanks

Doesn't seem to be way to get out. Considered buying coach ticket or even mileage ticket but not available or not any cheaper.

If flight is 6 months out, make any sense to wait until 60-90 days before to get cheaper fare. Right now it's $11500 for FC from EWR to Zurich.

Thanks
