I just noticed that on both my and my wifes account 40K mr points posted today next to the following message;
PRG $500 spend / 40k MR pts

Anyone else have this or know what it is?
We already got all our signup bonuses months ago.

Why not, it should have been 400K!

Dont worry, I am not complaining, just figured since it hit both our accounts there must be some reason... or maybe not.

I don't know if this is the case for you, but the word is that people who signed up for the AMEX Gold Columbia MBA Deal some time back and then got switched are seeing a surprise 40K points this morning.

Supposedly this was the Columbia 50k offer which we all got 10k on and then bumped to 75k using the codes...they gave us the addtl 40k anyways for some reason.
I wouldn't be surprised if the took it back.
Needless to say, If you didnt get it- DONT call!

My wife never got bumped, she already got the 10K+40K after the initial spending. She also got the additional 40K, so maybe thats a good sign?

I just noticed these in my AmEx account after yuntif!!!
I have already got 85,000 points for Gold (they screwed up and gave me 75k + 10k) and then 100K for plaitnum, now 40k!!
WOW!
I wanted to transfer the 40k to Continental, but i missed that and the delta 50% promo!!

i just realized that i too got an extra 40k mr points with the same exact explanation but as my wife closed already her gold cards she didnt get it but i wont complain. my only question is if i need to be worried that amex will wake up 1 day and take it back from me???

There is at the very least a possibility AMEX will wake up, realize its mistake and take back the points.

Well, I'm not sure that is 100% safe either. (Read up on "clawback.") I guess time will tell.

I recently got bonus 20k besides 15k signup for premier rewards. I callef bunch of times for 75k they always refused than i got little suprise not sure hownor why.
