Could be. IME, swiping twice at the gas station is also a trigger.

When I see people getting tickets or about to, I buy meter tickets for them to prevent a ticket or to help them fight it. It's a simple chesed, and people really appreciate it, I think.

till they realize, And pull back the payment, And then amex will charge you for a returned payment...

Returned payment has also been known to cause FR.

Of course they charge for returned payments. I think it's $38.

So they will waive it if it gets returned.

I got a call from amex last week that someone used my credit card in a gas station in Florida. They immediately detected it was fraudulent and sent me new cards in the mail.

Not sure how my number got leaked out.

because nobody used my card and it was just a payment so im not gaining anything by calling, just rather wait it out until they realize or they don't. The thing that's funny is that it was a payment to an au on my account.
