GIFT CARDS WANTED
« Reply #15 on: January 04, 2012, 09:45:27 AM »
Turn them into Visa GC's they are worth more.

Unless he plans on shopping by amazon anyway and then why should he pay the activation fee on the visas

Just offering another option.

Thanx all

I have in the past used WM GC to buy AMEX cards...

I just wasnt sure and didn't wanna waste a trip to BestBuy

Probably the best option for me is to buy Visa/Amex GC's and use Square to turn it into CASH  ;)

how much are the biggest amex they have there and what are the fees? If you're going to be paying a decent % between activation and square why not offer to sell it to someone here for same amount?

I think we have a winner! You will make out better than selling them at a 10% discount.

but if all they have are the $100 ones with $5 or $6 fee plus the 2+% for square you're still losing 7% - 9% which it sounds like the OP would be willing to pay for amazon gc's

…but what if they have 500 cards for a 4.95 fee? Then your cost is less than 4%, no shipping cards and no need to check references. Looking at the whole picture there is probably less to go wrong.

@bubbles: and i thought of a chiddush! (taking other gc's too)

when they're turned into visa cards can they then be used to buy other gc's?

and does anyone know a place that would always accept gc's as payment for other gcs? either in store or online?

@name changed: if u can work out a way to get amazon gc's or any other way to spend on amazon i'll take them all off you for 9% discount.

not exactly sure what your chiddush is. why would you turn them into visa gc's and then amazon? why would you waste money on the activation fees when you can just get straight amazon gc's for no fees? and how do you plan on taking "other" gc's too?

my chiddush (change in post from a week ago) was that im also interested in buying other gift cards, not just amazon - providing i can get amazon gc's with them.

i would love to get straight amazon gc's for them but it seems it can't be done. only in this case would i be willing to take other gc's

and why couldn't you reuse one of your (six) old threads? Did you really need to start a new one?
