Meaning it seems like it is cheaper to book tlv-nyc than it would be to book two spree ate tickets tlv -lhr and lhr - nyc

Quite possible. taxes to leave LHR. Also distance when booking 2 trips, sometimes makes it cost more avios, too.

Thanks. I booked a tlv-lhr yesterday and was planning on a UA flight from the glitch. Now I need to take BA the whole way

If you booked less than 24 hours ago, is there free cancellation? I know if it included a USA stop it would, but maybe you can still cancel TLV-LHR free.

Free cancelation anywhere within 24 hours.

Lately, I have been able to add AA FF# on Avios booking directly on AA.com

No need for RJ anymore on many bookings.

Does your aa FF # show up on your ticket on my trips on AA.com? How do you confirm that it took?

Thanks. I am guessing you use rj like finair. After you do that does your aa ff # appear on your confirmation on aa website? I went through finair and got an email confirmation but on aa website it's showing any ff #? Is that normal?

I'm looking to fly YYZ-RDU on March 9th. BA (and AA) aren't showing anything available, but looking separately I found (on BA) YYZ-JFK and JFK-RDU with an hour in between. Would I be able to book them separately and call in later to have them merge the itineraries so my bags can go straight and therefore I would have a chance at making the connection? Having to check in again would not be possible with an hour layover, and I need to be in RDU by noon

1) Can I add my AA FF# to the flight?
2) Will this extend my mile expiration date? Flight is in Feb, expiration is in May.

If you have an AA credit card or AA elite status you’ll want to attach your AAdvantage number onto your BA reservation to take advantage of those benefits.
There’s no need to pay with AA credit card to get free baggage. You only need to have your AAdvantage number that is attached to that credit card on the reservation.
Same goes if you have a USAirways credit card and are flying on USAirways, you’ll need your USAirways mileage number in the reservation.
Alas if you book a ticket for yourself on BA.com from your own Avios account then AA.com will not let you enter your AAdvantage number.
All you need to do is go to Finnair.com, click on manage booking, and enter your BA confirmation number:

Thanks for the detailed response! I'm an AU on my parent's AA card with platinum benefits, though I don't think this card is connected to my AA account. Any way to connect the card to my AA account, or use the card on this flight to get the AA Platinum benefits?

No. And being an AU on your parents AA card won't get you any benefits at all.
