When reporting a new offer please post here http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=49544.0

To take advantage of an Amex offer, first save the offer to your card, then do the spending. There are a few ways to save offers to your card; http://www.amexoffers.com/ has links to most of them. Depending on the offer and depending on your Amex card, it may be available via none, one or more than one of these methods:

americanexpress.com web site
Log into the americanexpress.com web site. If you get the new version of the site, scroll down to Amex Offers & Benefits at the bottom of the page. If you get the old version, click the Amex Offers For You tab. You can also see on this web site which offers you already saved (even if you saved them via a method other than this web site) and which offers you already redeemed. This method is only available for Amex credit and charge cards issued by American Express.
The maximum number of offer that the site will show you is 100. If you already have 100 available offers, there may be other offers that they are prepared to show you, but are not showing you because you already have the maximum. To see additional offers, save one or more of your available offers and then refresh the list (F5 in most Windows browsers).

Saving an offer on AmericanExpress.com to one of your cards will automatically make it unavailable for the rest of your cards linked to the same login. The way to get around this is by opening all of your cards in separate tabs and then saving the offer in each.  **

**Sign into different tabs?!?
Sign onto your Amex account. card #1 is on the page.  scroll to offers. note a good one.
Open  tab 2: amex.com (or with Chrome, right click on the first tab and choose Duplicate) > you are already logged in.> go to my accounts > click on card #2  on the top of the page. scroll to offers. check for same good offer.
Open tab #3. repeat as for tab #2. Repeat as necessary.
THEN: on tab #1 - click 'save' .  Then on tab #2 click 'save' . Then on each tab.
If you so desire: check on each card's 'saved offers' to check that it's there.

This link should take you to the Amex old layout,
which is much easier to scroll down through all the offers.

Amex® Mobile app
This method is only available for Amex credit and charge cards issued by American Express. The login is the same as for the americanexpress.com web site.

Dedicated web site for enrollment
Some Amex offers, most notably Small Business Saturday, but also NYC Restaurant Week, Home Depot, Amazon and DirecTV, offer a dedicated web site where you could enter your card information to enroll.

For Bluebird/Serve cards
Amex offers can be saved via the bluebird.com web site. Go to Plan & Manage > Amex Offers. Amex offers can also be saved via the Bluebird mobile app.

For cards not issued by American Express (such as Amex cards issued by Citi, USAA, PenFed, Bank of America, etc.)
Add offers to your card at this site: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/network/shopping.html
You will be prompted for your name, card number and email address.

Look for this
Its best buy branded. But its a visa card
Wow! Never seen that at any BB I've been to. And, believe me, I scour the entire store for VGCs, including in the back where they have the gaming GCs. Maybe they have them behind the counter somewhere? I've asked at a few BBs if they have VGC behind the counter and they've all looked at me like I'm crazy. The one in CA has two guys helping me and they pretty much said "What dude?" :-)

People use Airbnb a lot. I know many with positive experiences that use them every so often.

I use it and love it. E.g. I get a condo in maui for a week for 800, rather than getting 2 nights at andaz (opportunity cost of  500). True, it's not as fancy, but It's more comfortable,  and I like bringing my own food and having a full kitchen to use.

With this offer, I get it for 400 - that's a crazy good deal!

I don't remember seeing any successful reports of using multiple gift cards together in a stay. One guy here bought $1500 but said the stay was canceled and account flagged. He said the hold was released, but he hasn't confirmed if the booking is good.

Its not "using multiple gift cards together in a stay". You load them into your account as credit. Same as StubHub.

He did say the booking was fine.

With the help of 3 CSRs I found one of these lying on a cabinet at my local BB but the POS wouldn't process it. They looked up the SKU and said they couldn't sell it until 12/19. On the bright side, they said there would be 83 available on that day.

The way to activate these. They have to remove the strip of paper in the back. It reveals a barcode this barcode they have to scan . then either scan the outside barcode or enter manually the $5.95 fee

Anyone get credited for Airbnb GCs?

And what's the deal with the merchant description?

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

it seems like they use a service to operate their gift card department  and while eventually you will get the credit you are right you probably will have to contact them to get the credit
i have yet to hear of anyone who received an email confirming that they took advantage of the Amex deal as we commonly see on amex deals

Really not sure what the big deal is here. Per the T&C:

"Offer valid for approved bookings and gift cards purchased on Airbnb.com and the Airbnb mobile app.

From Reddit:

Here are the fees you have to pay: (1) income tax ~25$ based on 25% tax rate (2) airbnb fee ~10$ (3) transaction fee ~3$ (4) extra taxes depending on the city.
I think you would come out positive at the end. You'd probably make 10-15$ including the value of the credit card points and you can write yourself a nice review! ;) Plus if you are a starter, you'd get some bonuses for signing up, referral and hosting for the first time. Each of those could be 25$ or so.

Commission is 3%, let's say sales/VAT tax is 7%, and 25% income tax. If you have 5 cards with this deal, that would be $250 - ($500 * 0.30) = $100 profit. So 40% return on capital. Seems worth it to me. I'm sure it violates some user agreement though.

I'm actually an airbnb host. My numbers are more realistic. 3% is the amount that host pays. 10% is the amount that the guest pays. The former is credit card processing fees. The latter is airbnb's profit.
