Do you really need to carry your passport on you to check in to the lmds? Can a license do the job?

Sometimes they don't ask, but sometimes they insisted on seeing it and refused to check me in until I produced it

Do i need to bother to call spg to add my father's name to my reservation, or the hotel won't give a hoot that the first names are different, as long as we have the same last name?

They told me that in order to receive stay credits, you personally have to settle the charges at check out.
I've been hit or miss w/ this.
Is this simply a YMMV thing, or can I convince them to credit it when it doesn't process automatically.

Next time you go, ask them to print you a copy of the old folio. Then fax it to SPG.

What kind of charges are you referring to?

So they told me to look at 3.2f here
https://www.starwoodhotels.com/preferredguest/legal/spg_terms.html

It says the following:
3.2.f. SPG Awards may only be used for up to a total of nine rooms on the same date at the same SPG Participating Hotel; however, an SPG Member may only earn Starpoints for Eligible Charges incurred for up to three rooms if the SPG Member stayed in one of the rooms.

He said he spoke to supervisor's, and they told him it's only if you paid for it.
I argued and said that the language indicates otherwise.

Either way...

I have Guy email me copies.
But they said I had to pay for it.
The folios have my name along w/ my guest.

I messed up and thought my reservation was for this upcoming shabbos and it ends up I missed my reservation for last shabbos. Any tips for me to get a refund of my points?

I called already and they told me they'll put in a request for me, but it didn't sound to hopeful.
Any good claims I can make to sound more convincing?
