To signup for credit cards you can click here or on the “other credit cards” tab on top of the DansDeals logo banner to view links for card offers. Then just click on the link to “View all card offers by issuing bank” and scroll down to view all card offers from the bank of your choice.

Pulls from TU in NJ, NY , FL , PA

Recon 866 408 4064 (might pull from Experian)

For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

Did anyone try to apply for a new U.S air card after downgrading the old one? (downgrading, not closeing or switching)
Where you approved? Instent? Recon?
I did. 3-4 months ago. Reconned once. Short questions about employment. No mention of previous card.

Seem to have messed up. Closed account before first bill closed. They say I forfeited all points and bonus. Anyone ever hear of this. Any way to recoup/reinstate? Or just suck it up as rookie mistake? Hate to lose 40k when I have AA merging.

BTW this card may be the best/easiest first card to get. My wife was au on my cards for 6 months - the oldest when she was added was about 7-8 months. Instant approval for 4k. Chase rejected my brother who had virtually the same history, and wouldn't even give him 300 on a freedom.

Same product etc. They couldn't even see that it was the no fee version. They thought she still had the reg version. They looked at annual fee payment and original app for proof.

Success with a a supervisor! Thanks
Success after having the card for 1 year or right after opening? I am having issues trying to convince them to waive the fee, I just opened the account, any ideas?

Same think happened to me. Just wait until the A/F gets charged and the sign-up bonus posts and then call to close the account and be refunded. If they refuse, HUCA. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using.

True, though in my offer it says "40k is awarded after first purchase, and Payment of the annual fee. I made a purchase, but I havent paid the annual fee and the miles have not posted :'(

I don't understand. Why haven't you paid it? Because you haven't been billed for it yet? Once it gets billed, and the billing cycle finishes, the 40k will post... ?

the AF posted, I just figured that it would be easier getting them to waive it, than refunding it...

Oh... I see. My experience was that I needed to pay it first to get the 40k, so I don't have any other advice. Sorry.

If I apply for a Barclay's card which pulls from transunion and get declined for the application will that effect my experian credit report? In other words does experian see the credit pulls that are taken from transunion?
no
