For those who want to churn and/or want to get the bonus without paying the annual fee: Wait until the A/F gets charged, pay it off with the rest of the bill, and the sign-up bonus will post (at the end of that billing cycle). Then call to close the account and ask to be refunded. They can't charge an A/F for a card you aren't using. You will not lose the miles once they are in your US Airways account.

It seems that if after you use the card you just let it sit unused for a couple months, they will then email you with a targeted offer for 15,000 more points for spending $750 a month for three months.

I saw on the plane a 50K offer, do you think they will honor it on my recent sign up?

I just got approved for this card. What can I do to get the annual fee waived? Call? How soon do I need to/ should I?
Thanks

So, I just got a letter in the mail with a 50K offer. Tried calling the number on the back of the card but they couldn't match it. They said to call Dividend Miles, which I plan to do next. But has anyone had success getting matched ever with Barclays? Any tips?

Was not interesting in another pull. 2nd HUCA worked! Bh. Although she was hesitant at first bc I opened the card in May, but after some shmoozing, I got the extra 10K.

Btw, she did not ask for any verification of the offer (unless she was able to see on her end that my account was offered a 50K offer.)

I cancelled this card a while ago, but it's still showing up in my profile. does it matter at all?
I applied today for the U.S air card even though the one I closed 2 months ago was still showing im my profile.
The app was declined and when I called recon they said the system flaged it as a duplicate and didint process it.
I then applied by phond and was approved after some Huca with recon.

+1 for my next churn.
Maybe call and ask them to remove it? Did it use to happen automaticly?

I got the same offer, first they said they can give me the first 5k, but the other 5k I'd need to spend another $1k in 90 days. I said I didnt want to spend more, and that every other bank I've dealt with will match an offer within 60 days. First he wouldn't budge so I said if this is the kind of service I should expect from Barclays then maybe I should cancel the card and after fighting with him for a few mins he agreed to give me the extra 10k with no extra spending. I saw the miles reflected on my Barclays account instantly.

On a side note, how long does it usually take for the miles to post? My statement closed on Monday and my points haven't posted yet.

Where are you looking? They're not in my US account (which makes sense because my statement didn't close since yesterday) and I don't see anything on Barclays site about rewards.

On the barclays site, when im looking at my US Air card, on the right side, there's a gift box looking thing and it says how many miles/points you've earned since your last statement. Mine says 10k.

Thanks! Mine still says 0, although the rep told me her supervisor had to put it through. I hope they actually do...
