Sprint now has the same price ($100) for the centro as for the touch, moto q9c, blackberry 8830, and ace.

What's the gain of the centro over the other (I.e. Moto q9c)?

Is there an app for WM devices that can map from the GPS signal WITHOUT a data connection (unlike google maps that needs a constant data feed)?

Does sprint lock the GPS on their phones? I have a WM phone and when I installed google maps/live search, I couldn't and clicked "use gps" it looked for a signal and fould nothing. What COM port should I use? Do I need to unlock something? How?

gozalim, its way more complicated than that, and device specific.

As far as WM devices go, The Sprint Mogul has a GPSone chip that is unlocked and visible to the OS. The Touch has the same chip, but last I checked needed some hacked drivers ported over from the Titan (mogul) to make it accessible to the OS. The older devices such as the Apache (ppc6700) technically have GPS for e911 services, however proper device drivers do not exist and therefore it can't be used for much other than spitting out lattitude and longitute numbers from the qpst menu.

What about Moto Q9c? (It has GPS options in the settings menu; number of fixes, etc. Gives the impression that it has something)

Do you know what it has and how to access it?
