Happy I didn't have to sit through 18 hours of flying for ~2 years of benefits.

It takes about 7/8 weeks to get it. Might even take longer.

My wife & I both have a little more then 13k sitting by A3 (thanks to last years glitch on US with orbitz

...), we want to travel to LA anyway before 11/23 (before the new regulations starts), I can have LGA-DEN-SNA in A for 490.00, should I book it? Or just forget about A3 & just look for a award ticket?

As I learned during this ordeal, you're basically paying for lounge access (only when flying UA) and for an extra bag - sometimes - because the other main benefit of faster security when flying *A can be had with TSA Precheck. If you don't have a Plat card yourself to get Precheck with, check the thread where people sell it for as low as $30. The other benefits are going to die pretty soon anyway so I can't see $490 (pp?) being worth it anymore.

In your opinion I should drop the whole Idea of *A (even though I have already accumulated 13K miles), when I can get it for 490.00 PP & rather shad out 25K points (PP) to get to LA?

Well, 25K should be valued at less than $490, so yes, I think it's a good deal to use 25K rather than pay $490. But more importantly, the *A benefits are going to be gone soon. Unless you plan on flying UA a lot soon (and get the benefits of lounge access) and *A a lot (to get the extra bag) and you don't get TSA Precheck, then I'm not sure it's worth it.

I'm flying to New York tomorrow morning. Couldn't do anything about it and didn't want to fork out the cancelation fee. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. At least LGA has a centurion lounge where I can eat my sadness away.

Traveling with Austrian air right before pesach wanted to hear people experience if anyone can share.
I am *AG and I'm traveling with my wife and baby Austrian are saying that they only allow me to have a extra suitcase is that true? Or DROPR?
It seems to be that the right lounge to go into is the Lufthansa lounge in EWR and the Austrian business in VIE is that true or are any of the other lounges better? Also has anyone had experience with taking in their wide as a guest and also bringing in a baby? Did they make issues?
