Advice on becoming a PA Physician Assistant?
« on: December 17, 2011, 10:54:26 PM »
I am considering going to school to get a dagree in something. (Was in Yeshiva, family growing, need to make a living...). I am 27 years old and only have a bachelor degree from Yeshiva. Dont think that would do much for me. I am interested in the Medical field but from what I hear Medical School is impossible and very long. Someone suggested to look into becoming a PA. Anyone have any experience with the process? I understand its hard but is the schooling extremly hard? Any ideas of a diff good paying job i should pursue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kinda true.
Arguable.
True story. I have a friend who took the test in '08 and  they are probably going to accept him in the coming weeks. They're currently at the background checking stage. He took his 1500 question psych test last week (7hrs) and met the psychologist. Next cadet class starts Jan. 9.

I met a cop @ OWS who looked a bit bored, and had a whole conversation with him. One of the things we discussed was what it takes to become a cop. he said you first need to take a course and pass a test in order to work for the city. (any city job) then, you can apply for police academy. From the first day you walk into police academy, you start getting paid. Also, the benefits are very good.

PA is a good field if u wanna do the doctor thing (diagnose, treat and prescribe meds to patients) but skip the med school process however beware- the prerequesites are brutal: anatomy and physiology, chemistry, microbiology, statistics, and hands on patient care experience etc etc
