You can then use BA to fly to/from TLV. Using miles for one ticket, and only paying 10% miles for infants. There is a bit of money in fees flying through LHR, but for BA F, pretty good deal.

You're saying as opposed to paying miles for 2 adults 10% for each infants. Isn't the CP always a good idea? Not sure I'm understanding the unique benefit here...

Also as nice as it would be right now all my MS goes towards sign up bonuses so don't have 30k in spending to spare :/ Come to think of it I don't have the BA card anymore either...maybe again soon though

Most other airlines are going to be charging you 10% of revenue for the infants. With the BA CP, you save on using mileage for only one adult and you get the 10% miles for infants. Granted there are higher fees, but when factoring in premium mileage for another adult, it makes sense.

I want to fly from JFK to LAX in First with a lap child. I want to go AA, is there any way to get around paying 10% of fare (e.g. booking it on BA or Alaska...?)

I had lately two problem with infant tickets,I would like to share it so others can save time and hassle.

1. I flew Singapore suites and added my infant and paid,they saw at check in I have a ticket for him but they couldn't see the e-ticket number. I don't know why they couldn't pull it up in the system,they called the ticketing desk they called reservations took 25 minutes for them to find it.
At least I got them to escort me through the airport because they wasted my time when it was their fault,it was nice cutting those long lines,even the priority lines were big.

2. I flew LH fra-vce booked with United miles, I called to add infant they said "fine he is added with no additional charge" I was wondering why it's free, only when I got to Frankfort I realized why,because there was no ticket for the infant just a booking
I called up United and they issued the ticket for me with a charge....
I almost missed my flight only 20 minutes before departure I had it confirmed.
Always have the E-ticket number for infants with you.

I had similar issues using UA. Always need to confirm multiple times for all this stuff and show up early.

Good advice here.

I've had issues with BA canceling an infant eTicket number after it was already confirmed and ticketed.

Triple check your ticket numbers and reservations when there is an infant involved.

They do the escort /line cutting for all R passengers. I got it without a infant mess-up...

But regardless, good advice. A lot of people end up stuck in airport because they think all they need is a record locator.

Interesting,because she wasn't too happy to do it,I had to play up how upset I was with the service they give to a first class passenger,and my father also flew them and didn't get it.

I am trying to understand how do they get 10% of fare for infants? Is it whenever you call up its 10% of the fare at that exact moment? Furthermore what happens if I book a one way award ticket? Does that make it more expensive because one way international tickets are more expensive?

last time i called AA to price infant on OW and RT PHL-TLV and they priced OW about the same price as RT

Yes. It is 10% of the cheapest fare one way at that moment. It doesn't make a difference if your ticket was booked with cash or miles, the baby's ticket will still be 10% of a cash ticket at that moment.

I have called numerous times within one hour and have never received the same quote

I'm not buying that. I have had infant fares jump and fall like an IsraelIs mood swing, fluctuating 100s of dollars
