I made some reservation at the Crown Plaza for $30   :D

you came so close to having me as a neighbor, but as the other person posted the 5k deal is Gone :-(

Im booked at The Ramada on pts for both days of Yom Tov (Wyndham pts 25k per night) and will probably go with The Park for the other days @ $96. If Chaim is correct with free WiFi and free parking it closes the gap between $30 and $96 nicely, but the CP is probably a fancier place and larger rooms (never been inside a room)

Sorry guys, kind of skipped this thread.
How does the $30 cp/night work?  Maybe it explained here and I failed to see, as I'm using a BB now.

 My APOLOGY Levicohen

I can tell you this from a Rabbi who stayed there a few yrs ago, he never saw a room any smaller in any Hotel. This is the Hotel above Egged and used to be called the Ram At best a 2*. Do yourself a favor and dont stay there! The J Gate from the sounds of things needs a paint job etc but sounds as if the rooms are at least a  decent size. when over there for Shavoth I plan to check out the J Gate for myself

Problem is it sounds as if you get 1 of the 4 rooms like Super had it would be great while if you end up with a reg room that Chaim described which seems to be most of their rooms well it would be better then the J Gold but nothing to write home about

Again my sincere apologies for mixing up these Hotels

Thanks Super for catching my MISTAKE

little house is on Ebin Ezra next to Reb Guzmans Yeshiva (Netzot Yisroel) a friend told me forget about it when I asked him about it last year. He described it as an apt where you get a room and share the rest

Palatin is a rinky dink 2* at best and if that

heres alink to alot of the Hotels : http://www.israelhotels.org/hotels_all.cfm?LevelID=31 trust me most of the 4*s are a 4* in someones dreams Only. In Israel like in Europe you get what you pay for.

If $$ is the problem either rent an apt from some Kollel couple heading back here if Bein Zeman  or try Jerusalem Gate expecting it seems a HoJos , Grand Court Olive Tree or Moriah classic on St Georges st these 3 are close to the Meir and are pretty new and not in need of being renovated thats why they cost alot more then the JGate if you want Mehadrian. Otherwsie a clean place is the Park

Olive Tree and the other are boarding palestinians (officially on their ground already).

Palatin, if you want to be in city center, is the best located from all, but you might need to spend on K700* (or whichever number they are holding now....)

* insecticide...

Fyi- i am in crowne plaza jerusalem now. Pretty bad (for a 4-5 star hotel). Id give it 2.5-3 stars at most.

Ill write a full review when i get back. Im in the renovated rooms and a day hasnt gone by without issues. From no a/c to finding a dirty band-aid on the window shade, to our dirty towels being refolded instead of replaced, to having to request shampoo...this is no 4 star hotel, let alone 5 star. Is it worth $30? yes! is it worth $179 a night? no way!

true and they arent exactly cheap but IMO they are the very best of the 4*s and deserve to have 4*s unlike all the others, and yes last Succos I went and saw a room in each of them. just I wanted a minyan closer to me

Id think their withdrawl would be alot worse if they were paying for those type of Hotels $400+ a night add in the price of Shabbos or Yom Tov meals and charge it on the SPG Amex and they have enough pts for another free Biz tkt to TLV LoL

U got to remember they arent paying for the Biz tkt

*W never owned a Hotel anywhere in Israel

as for Yeru which Hotel do you think would be interested? I dont see any that would be willing to climb on board. nor can I understand a reason for any of them to want to, its really a loss cause for them with the amount of reses for free nights vis the amount of paid bookings that would come thru SPG
