took this off their site
IPhones that are “jailbroken” are eligible for coverage, but SquareTrade does not cover issues that occur as a result of jailbreaking

And do u think they'd consider battery life under the category of "cause of jailbreak"?
I think if they can't fix it they might claim that!

Jailbreaking is now legal in the US for quite some time now but u should know that it is a main cause of battery drain... So i would assume that they'd consider ur issue as being the cause of the jailbreak

That makes sense, that jailbreak will drain quicker and certain apps will as well, but it's being unusually drained and without using it as well.

Where do u see jailbreak is legal?

On my previous jailbroken iphone i remember i would go to sleep with a fully charge iphone and wake up with it being only 30-40% charged. It also dependa which version of the jailbreak u have. Some newest versions resolved some battery draining issues. If u need more info, u can look into it on the dev team blog or on iclarified.com

I don't know which version I have - I think it's the one that I did without a computer (swipe to jailbreak) -
Anyways is there a jailbreak for the iOS 5 in case I have to restore it for squaretrade? I have v.4.1

I bought a laptop on Amex for the extended warranty, but I used split tender to get rid of my Paypal balance ($18.00 PayPal balance $615.98 AMEX). Then I found out that this nullifies my extended warranty. So I decided to get a Squaretrade plan, but it has gotten much pricier over the past few years. They used to have 30% & 40% off coupons, but I can't find any. Anybody have a code for me, pretty please?

you sure it completely nullifies the protection?
Iirc I've seen mentioned that the portion paid with amex is still covered

It seems like you're right:
Quote from: EXTENDED WARRANTY DESCRIPTION OF COVERAGE
We will pay up to the actual amount charged to Your Account for the product for which a Loss is claimed
link
But it still may be worth it: I'll have the HP warranty for year 1, Squaretrade for years 2-4 & Amex for year 5.

I don't think amex will extend third party warranties. I think it's for manufacturer warranties only
