I went yesterday to the social service office to apply for jersey care. I was told that I now need my tax returns in addition to my bank statement. Also the last 4 consecutive paystubs as opposed to the latest one only.
so i went again with all the missing info that I was told I needed. This time I got a diff case manager and she asked me y I brought with me 4 pay stubs!!! I told her first person I spoke to said I need it she answered she don't know what she talking about. I guess ymmv. But it did seem like i needed my tax returns.
But I'm still proud to be from clev!

All my income is self employed. Being that I anticipate that my 2013 tax return will me higher than 2012 I told the case worker I want to add 1000 dollars a month over my 2012 income. He told me we don't care what you write all we care is what it says on the tax return and if you only have 2012 that is what we go by. Well good for me because it probably got me an extra year of schip for my children.

Wow! Interesting. Does that mean no more need to report an income change till the next time your file a tax return?
Can't be true.....

Maybe with the new system they have no way of filing an income change.

I applied in November for my son and I still haven't heard back. When I call they say it is still being processed. I had the case escalated a couple of times and still nothing has happened. Does any one have any tips or a different number to call?

If you are talking about NJ family care through the county, try to go to the office on 4th street and speak to a case worker with a computer so that they can look up and process your case.

Or go down to the office in Toms River on Hooper ave.

But I'm still proud to be from clev!
