Does the amount of savings that one has a reason that jersey care would disqualify you...or is it based only on one's current monthly income?
Only monthly income, not assets, is considered for eligibility.   I wonder if they would give someone issues if they have say 100K in savings and are requesting Jerseycare! Per the t&c though, assets aren't considered. For food stamps there used to be an asset limit of $2,000 but they waived that like 2 years ago causing a big spike in Food Stamps applications....

How would they look at Amazon payments in terms of income? I wonder if getting a deposit of say 990 from AP and then having it debited the next day to pay a cc would be an issue.

Correct, the only reason they ask for statements is to see if there is any additional income.

Is it possible to set up a bank account under my father in law's name which I have joint control of? Similar to an account manager on a credit card? This way support will not legally be mine.

+1

It's an easy legitimate way to not count it as income.

I already have an arrangment worked out with rent so that would not work.

Now the way we do it is that every month my shver transfers money into an account in which we are both joint on. This way I can use the money as I please. Now I am wondering if there is any way to drop my self yet still have access to writing checks etc.

What's the problem?  Whst type of access do you need?

You can take yourself off the account and just use a debit card to get cash, and get a signature stamp for the checks.

I like the signature stamp idea! That should really help. Debit card to get cash would also work. I would like to have easy online access, although I guess I can make my shver a user id etc.

Would I be able to link the account to my credit cards for payments?
