My county renewal was stamped and mailed in before the date required by jersey care. I even did return receipt with the green postcard as suggested by the lrrc, and have their signature that they received my packet.
A week after my required submission i get a letter from them that we are being terminated, because i "didn't send in my application!"
1-How do i go about resolving this? On the one hand i have the green postcard showing that they have my application, but they want to terminate me because i didn't send it in??
2-They are are always months behind in sending you a letter telling you that you are reapproved, so what is this gotcha moment, where less than a week after it was due they are running to tell you that you are being terminated? If they are too busy to check every piece of their incoming mail from a week or 2 ago, how can they rush to send out termination letters? (All the more so that thankfully i have return receipt)
What are my options now?
Had the same. I went down. They said it wasn't in the system to be terminated. It was most likely just to be a warning.

On a totally different note, lrrc botched up on my app big time.

Is there a small percentage of leeway regarding income requirements for adults other programs have a few percent leeway?

Can I use a w2 as proof of income?

Check upthread I think you get an additional 5% of the limit. So if the limit is 100k you have until 105k.

Pretty clear chart, goes by monthly gross income... but I heard there's some leeway and trying to find out what that is

Quoted from upthread but got messed up a drop...

The 5% disregard works in an interesting way and is a drop less than you may think it is.

https://questions.medicaid.gov/faq.php?id=5010&faqId=9486

The way it works is, the income amounts are based on a % of the FPL (Federal Poverty Level).
https://www.healthcare.gov/glossary/federal-poverty-level-FPL/

For a family of 4, the FPL is $24,250 a year.
NJ Family care says if you make up to 133% of that ($32,253) the parents and kids can be on. (There are much higher limits for just the kids).
If you are making a little over $32,253, the disregard says that there is an amount that can be ignored. That amount is 5% of the FPL so 5% of $24,250 is $1,212.   You are able to be making $33,465 and still be on ($1,212 + $32,253).

It is NOT a calc of 5% of your income....
SO if you are making $33,900, they don't say, ignore 5% of his income, knock off $1,695 and pretend he is only making $33,205 and eligible....

Quote
In that same state, if a parent applied with MAGI income within five percentage points of the FPL above the net income standard for the adult group (133% FPL), the five percent disregard would be applied to ensure that the parent could obtain eligibility in Medicaid and the parent would be made eligible in the adult group.

https://questions.medicaid.gov/faq.php?id=5010&faqId=9486

so apparently the all their numbers already include the extra 5%. it should be 133% and now the number is 138%

I mat be wrong but I thought that this past year(?) It was raised to 138%... nothing to do with including the 5% but just to raise what FPL level qualifies

Not sure, but 133% + 5% of that is 139.65% not 138%

I was just quoting from Medicaids site that someone linked. I didn't do too much research. I would imagine its up to date though. In that quote it says the number 133% so I just did some rationalizing, but then again u guys may be right

Spoke to LRRC they said it's dollar for dollar and no leeway at all
Do it. By law it is based on last years tax return. They seem to try to ask for current paystubs but I've sent in last years return instead in the past with no issues.
In the LRRC they're insisting that I need paystubs and last year's Tax returns I'm gonna try with w2 and see what happens...

Don't blindly trust the LRRC. They're not always correct or knowledgable and many times they're conveniently overly conservative on your cheshbon

W2 is not a tax return
That's correct, however the same way a tax return legally works (and someone upthread mentioned that's all he use s) a w2 should also, on the jersey care application one of the options for proof of income is a w2, all I was saying was the lrrc was insisting that,  that won't work and i need paystubs specifically.

Usually pretty much the same as AGI. I e. Your income after all deductions. Also, doesn't include things that don't count as income, for example, parsonage.

 Maybe it was line 27.
