OK, my job just got a letter from NJ  Familycare, saying that depending on the situation they may pay for the premiums for my children.

Any knowledge of this?

If you sent in the birth verification within 30 days of birth, you're covered until you get a letter.
Technically they are not required to send you a letter
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

True.
The letter you get first confirming coverage should say when you will need to renew, usually when the baby is 1 year old.

Anyone know anything about this? Is there any advantage (with NJ Familycare, my copays are probably lower)? Can my company just not call them?

Never heard of this.

Is this because you are not eligible for JC?

Please keep us posted.

My children are eligible for JC at Tier D, so we're paying a premium.

It seems to be saying that (under some unspecified circumstances) they might be willing to just pay for them to get health insurance through my plan. The irony is that JC is probably better coverage.

So I see a few options:

1) My company can just not call them.

2) My company can call them and explain that since my coverage is NY-based coverage, it's not very helpful for my children living in NJ.

I'd be curious to hear thoughts form people who've dealt with this, or other aspects of JC.

anyone know if unearned income of 7k disqualifies eligibility automatically or eligibility is based on the total income number?

I'm trying to figure out if I'm eligible for jersey care, I get paid bi weekly and not bimonthly. I know that they calculate it differently. Would anybody know how they calculate it?

If someone gets an insurance settlement can that affect Jersey care? It's not taxable income but it is a large amount and being deposited in personal account obviously.

Sold stocks in 2016, and they're saying not eligible.
Can they just use paystubs from 2017 to become eligible?

And if truly not eligible, what Insurance is the best to get. Just need it for baby, mother and father are still on their parent's insurance.

Stocks are a one time capital gain. Why should that affect your income for JerseyCare?

Because its reported in the 1040, and included in gross income.
Thats what I understand they were told by jersey care.

I'de be more than happy if this is not the case. I'm not in NJ, and not so familiar with the program.

ETA: They are just now trying to get on for the first time, but their 2016 1040 shows the capital gains.
