Chase checking coupons
« on: January 09, 2012, 08:41:30 PM »
I opened a new Chase Total Checking account last week with a $150 coupon, and sure enough today I received a $200 coupon in the mail.

Any chance I could go into a branch and get the difference or have them apply the $200 coupon code to my new checking account?

I tried SM and they told me to pound sand. Gotta love being a Chase customer for 11 years and they won't even do anything to help you. I opened the account less than a week ago!

Head into the branch , I think those coupons can be applied up to 7(maybe even 10) days after opening an account

The rep in the SM said,  "blah blah blah we can't apply this coupon code anymore to your new checking account."

Should I ask for the $50 difference credit?

No deal, I sent an SM asking for a credit of the difference and someone actually responded by phone, he said:

"We are not able to adjust coupons. Once a coupon is redeemed another coupon for the same promotion type cannot be used within a 12 month period."

Oh well :(

Was that a personal coupon or a generic one from the internet?
If the later, link please?

These codes get you $150 and don't require direct deposit:
4383867348839314 (exp 3/31/12)
4383744799358265 (exp 3/31/12) taken
4247829931759861 (exp 1/31/12) taken

This code is also worth $150 but requires direct deposit
4282884889789765 (exp 2/29/12)

These all came in the last week. I get literally 2 per week; I'll try to post the codes when I remember.

I just got a $150 code but it's officially only for new customers, do they enforce that rule?

Apply online and see if it lets you use the code

I don't really want to open the account unless I'll get the bonus. I don't want to just apply and they might approve the account and not give me the bonus, I'm checking here to see if anyone has any experience with this.

I applied online and before any approvals take place they'll ask you for the coupon code, it won't let you proceed unless they deem you valid to use it.

So there's no harm in checking to see if it works.

Don't want to be hassled with closing an account I don't need and doesn't do anything for me.

Is there any way that I can use this code in the bank, or does the account have to be opened online?

You can use it in a branch, if they ask you for the card, tell them you threw it away cuz your friend told you the code is enough

No that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying the system does a verification check to see if you're eligible for the bonus before the account is opened.

It won't let you open it if you're not valid to use the coupon.

That's definitely not true.
