Nice thread.
Anyone have the Fisher-Price Papasan? Reviews?

The snugabunny is literally a lifesaver!!!!  Much better than many other swings we've tried.

Why did both you guys take the snugabunny over the papasan when the papasan dwarfs the snugabunny in review count? Just curious.

Honestly my wife is the one that picked it out but two of her friends have it and are thrilled with it so figured rather go with them then all the nice ppl that leave reviews online :p

Papasan doesn't come in any neutral colors-just girl colors.
And the average review score is the same.

We were given a mamaRoo as a present. My (2 month old) son loves it, but I don't think it has anything to do with the fancy motion system the seat is known for. He just loves staring at the mobile, and maybe finds the seat comfy, who knows. [Side note: I accidentally snapped a piece of the frame while assembling it, but we called them and said it broke during assembly and they said, no problem, we're sending you a new piece, with a return shipping label. Please send us the broken piece so our engineers can analyze it. How's that for CS!]

We also borrowed an ancient Graco swing from my aunt (it was originally a wind up but she also gave us a replacement head unit that was electric) for where he is babysat. The babysitter attached some toys at the top and instead of staring straight ahead my son tilts his head way back and stares up at them the whole time. I'm starting to think we should have just gone with a cheap seat that has a nice mobile. Thankfully we didn't actually pay for any of this stuff, so I don't mind.

Back on topic, as far as 2 in 1's, Fisher Price makes two swing/seat combos, here and here (there are other designs of each). Graco has one too, the Duo. Can't vouch for an of them, almost everyone I know has some version of the bigger spread-legged Fisher Price swing.

so it seems that fisherprice is the way to go.....or is it just the "in" thing and doesnt really reflect on the quality...?
also what does everyone do for shabbos...just leave it running or just a manual push?

Read the Amazon reviews. The Snugabuggy and the Papasan get a 4.5 out of 5

both of those actually currently have a 4.3 out of 5.0.
a couple of reviewers on Amazon mentioned having motor issues, has anybody here ever had or heard of such problems with these models?
or of any issues with these 2 models.
im starting to lean towards buying the Snugabuggy

I have the Fisher Price Soothing Motions Glider. It glides forward/backward and side to side and plays music. My kids love it!

Turn on the glider and the music = sleeping baby!!!

Similar to, but probably more cost effective than the mamaRoo

I wouldn't call purple neutral, but to each their own :)
The snugabunny is a great swing.  I know several people in CLE who have other swings and claim their kids hate them and when they come over to my house their kids fall right asleep in the Snugabunny and they run out and buy it!

Thanks for that. Wasn't looking at the bigger picture.
