Has anyone had any luck getting kosher breakfast as a diamond member in the Park Hyatt Toronto?
When I stayed there as a Diamond member 2 years ago, the hotel offered to order in kosher breakfast at an additional charge, but was unable to provide it for free.

Instead, they agreed to provide a food and beverage credit per person for each day of the stay calculated based on their "continental breakfast" charge. I pulled up my correspondence from them, and here's what they said:

"Hello  Mr. Eliteflyer,

My apologies for the delay in writing to you.
Diamond members are entitled to a Continental Breakfast which includes :-
Tea/Coffee
Pastries or Toast
Glass of freshly squeezed Orange or Grapefruit Juice.

The price is as follows:-
 1 Continental breakfast - 18.00
Delivery charge -                 4.00
15% Gratuity -                        2.70
Tax -                                         2.54
Total -                                    27.24

You could order any other items and only the difference will be charged to your room."

Once we arrived at the hotel, they refused to allow the credit to be used at the spa, so we ordered some expensive scotch at the roof-top lounge using the $100 in credit.

Thanks for the info. I emailed them and we'll see how they respond. I told them about the amazing breakfast we got at PH Paris and Zurich and asked them to do the same.

They refused me, then I had a very poor experience there.
Hyatt CS gave me a boatload of points and an agent at the hotel promised to get a kosher breakfast the next time I came to stay there, but I doubt I'd go back.

Easily my least favorite PH.  Nice view from the rooftop bar though.

They just refused me too. The response I got was very unlike what I received form the other PH's.

In what way was your experience poor besides for not getting breakfast?

They upgraded us from the Park suite to a luxury one bedroom suite so I guess I can't complain about the breakfast!!

This is my complaint letter about my stay there from 2010.  I very rarely file a complaint, but the overall attitude at the PH Toronto was just so poor I just had to vent.
I really have no clue why Hyatt allows them to fly the PH flag.  It's not in the same realm as the other PH properties.

Dear Hyatt Customer Service,

I recently stayed at the Park Hyatt Toronto on August 1st.  My diamond membership number is xxxxxxxxx and I have made 40 stays this year to date.  I was most looking forward to the stay as I had experienced many other great stays at Park Hyatts this year, including the Park Hyatt’s Paris and Zurich.  I had reached out via email and phone to the hotel to see if they would be able to arrange for a kosher breakfast instead of the standard diamond breakfast as I had done in Europe.  I never did receive a response.

Upon arrival at the Park Hyatt Toronto I was informed that parking was $38 for the night.  As I had seen parking available for under $10 across the street, I was going to just unload my car and bring my belongings upstairs.  The valet staff was incredibly rude to us.  They told me that we could not unload our belongings and bring them up to the room unless my spouse remained downstairs with the car.  I was never offered any assistance with my belongings.  I was informed by the valet staff that if I even tried to bring up our belongings together with my spouse, we would be charged the full $38 parking charge.  I had to get a hotel manager to tell the valet to allow us to bring our belongings upstairs!!!

At checkin I once again inquired about getting a kosher breakfast or a food and beverage credit in lieu of the standard diamond breakfast which we would not be able to eat, but I was told that there was no manager on duty who could authorize that until the following morning. As we were checking out the next morning, that kind of help wouldn’t be useful at all.

We were asked which newspaper that we would like.  I asked for and was told that the Wall Street Journal would be waiting on our door the next morning.  There was no newspaper waiting at all.  Amazing how the other Park Hyatts around the world always managed to have a Wall Street Journal for me, but Park Hyatt Toronto was unable to have one.

Upon checking out I was asked about my stay.  After describing my disappointment I was given a business card of the front desk clerk for my next stay.  As a Starwood Platinum member I definitely have other options, but I have enjoyed my stays at some other Park Hyatts this year.  After the downright lousy treatment I received at the Park Hyatt Toronto I’ll have to reconsider my staying habits in the future.

Sincerely,
