Think of Moving?

Airports:
  • CLE is about 15 minutes from downtown and 25-30 minutes from the Jewish community.  It's a focus city for Frontier, Spirit, and United.
  • The RTA (Rapid transit train) at Brookpark station has free parking and is just 1 train stop (3 minutes) to the stop inside the airport. The train costs $2.50 and the schedule is here: http://www.riderta.com/routes/redline/schedules/current#WestboundWeekday
An uber from Brookpark station to CLE is about $10.
  • Uber between the Jewish community and CLE is about $30.
  • CLE off-site parking is about $9/day, on-site parking is $17-$22/day, and curbside valet parking is $35/day.

  • The nicest hotel in Cleveland is like the Ritz-Carlton downtown. Marriott's Metropolitan at The 9 is also highly regarded, with a bar in an old vault. There is also a Hilton, Westin, and Kimpton downtown.

Transportation:
  • There is a subway/light rail connecting the airport with downtown, University Circle (where the Case campus and many museums are) and the Jewish community area, but renting a car is pretty much required unless you are just going between the airport and downtown.

Yes, that was probably the only dish I had that was not great. Vegetable balls would be more accurate.

I was trying to figure it out -- they were tasty ball shaped items, but definitely not felafel tasting...  ;)

Equidistant, but paid parking and not near anything else Jewish.

Another good pass through Cleveland both on the way East and West.

1. Got great food at Kantina for shabbos in Phillly
2. Unger's donuts were amazing...but not for the health-conscious. Still - was a nice road / shabbos treat.
3. Good experience at Hyatt Place, Independence.

On the way back:

3. Nice stay once again at the Hyatt Place - Legacy Village
4. Decent, if not great shabbos take-out at Tibor's
5. Kids had a lot of fun at the museum of natural history - the outdoor area was very nice
6. Take-out sandwiches for the road back at Kantina again. The manager there really goes out the way to help.

Question - what's the deal with Amy Joy donuts? Do they have any hechsher? I walked in and the lady there told me that they were kosher, but there was not certificate available, so we decide to hit up the grocery store instead.

Overall - Cleveland is great for food availability: ~2-3 days of activities or as stopping point between Chicago and East Coast.

The Amy Joy on Mayfield has a hechsher from Rabbi Bernstein IINM, there should be a certificate hanging up though.

Thanks, too bad. The lady there said they don't have one...and couldn't find it on any kosher lists at the time. Will know for next time.

Is there a Sephardi shul with daily minyanim in CLE?

Is tuition basically free for all of your children regardless of amount of income earned?
