guys can you help me figure out what to ask for?

Had a flight from TLV to PRG and got bumped off the flight due to them overbooking  (they were sent a smaller aircraft)


what compensation do I claim under EU / israeli law? (and which do I use)

also I ended up renting a car for a day can I include than in my compensation?

IDB is 600 Euro regardless of delay. But may be able to get more from Tal law

they booked me on another flight got their 13 hours later than anticipated booked with Czech airlines. The flight ended up being run by SmartWings

they didn't offer any compensation on the spot? did they provide hotel & food?

IDB is 600 Euro regardless of delay. But may be able to get more from Tal law

european compensation is only applicable if its a flight leaving the eu or operated by an eu carrier while Israeli law is compensates for the delay regardless of if it was IDB or not

united rebooked eveyone on the next day direct tlv-ewr but who is responsible for compensation/taxis/hotel stay etc?

Revenue. They said the plane was completely full and we have to speak to united because the ticket was bought from them. they were extremely unhelpful.

Don’t know about comp, though YYT-TLV is a unique flight route to add to flight log

I do not have a link, anyone can google it and find the answer.  This is from the manual of the airline I worked for , it is several years old but I doubt anything changed. When a passenger or crew member becomes seriously ill or dies on-board or during the flight, it constitutes grounds for extraordinary circumstances..

Here is a link from the telegraph UK, interesting article about compensation which mentions medical emergencies as extra ordinary circumstances -with no comp.

They are only required to give compensation when the delay is their fault. Weather and medical emergency is not their fault.

You are entitled to Israeli compensation laws (~3000 NIS/PP). Contact Brussels airlines
