Thanks for responses. Basically, she booked JFK-VIE-TLV on United business (for $) with Austrian Airlines. When she got to airport, Austrian Air said something about her not having reservation, or that it was cancelled, even though she had confirmation number, which United confirmed for her on the phone while she was standing and fighting with attendant. Ultimately, United got her a business flight direct to TLV (she had wanted to spend the day in Vienna but gave up bc of them) from EWR later in the evening. She was mocheles, but I thought she's crazy for not fighting them.

Got this from United yesterday in response to above:

Regrettably, I'm unable to reimburse any pre-arranged expenses (such as hotel accommodations at your destination, special events or ground transportation), inconvenience or loss of time. As a goodwill gesture, we will agree to reimburse your transpiration between airports up to a cost of $150. This will require a copy of the original receipt. It may be included as an attachment to this email. As a token of our concern for your experience, I can issue a $300 electronic travel certificate or credit you with 15,000 goodwill miles. I will wait for your response.

What did you ask/claim in the letter? The change of airports was a hassle, but, as discussed upthread, there's typically no compensation for a rerouting, and the fact that she got to her destination earlier makes any compensation claim much tougher.

But she missed her whole leg of the trip bc of them. Is that just "rerouting" from a diff airport to a diff airport (as in, no stopover)?

Routing isn't guaranteed. If the Vienna part wasn't booked as a stopover, there's really nothing for which to be compensated when it comes to that aspect of the trip. The airport change and ticketing hassles are a different story, but it looks like they paid for the former and offered compensation for the latter.

Family member was booked through UA miles on LH tlv-fra-ewr J. They canceled the flight once on the bus in tlv to the  airplane. Refused to book him on any flight that was leaving approx same time even offered to downgrade to Y. Finally got rebooked approx 12 hours later on UA tlv-ewr in J. What should he ask for and how?

Oh, thought it was more recent. That's weird bc I thought they announced the impacted flights 24 + hours in advance.

Received $200 travel bank 

DW flew home last night and had the same issue. Should I submit a new claim for her or just respond with her info to the email they sent me?

How do I get a hold of a company to help me recoup compensation from Azberbajain airlines when they violated Israeli Aviation law.
My daughter's flight was delayed 27 hours

Austrian Airlines is a non-seamless partner. A 24 hour wait period is required before ticketing. The reservation shows your seating with Austrian was unconfirmed. A special meal request online triggered the unconfirmed response to show in our reservation.
 
Ms. ___, I understand your disappointment with your missed stopover in Vienna. Our agents worked to rebook a flight so you could meet with your traveling companions in Tel Aviv. I am offering to pay your transportation between airports as a goodwill gesture. The offered certificate and goodwill miles are also a goodwill gesture. We believe the compensation to be fair. We are truly sorry for your embarrassment.

So I did this and the agent responded that she's giving $200 to DW as well. Then I guess she entered it into the system incorrectly as $100.
I emailed back letting her know and she added an extra $200 for DW.

Very happy with this outcome. JetBlue 75k mileage run really paid off
