flew mel-lax in J. flight was delayed 4hrs so didn't go to airport till later. At check-in, we were told to use Etihad lounge. Went to lounge and denied entry because they had passengers for the AUH flight there. Went to gate agent and told them. Got 10,000 velocity points.

Is the $200 voucher from this sellable, or does it need to be used under my name.

From the Terms:
Quote
Redemption/Transferability: eCredit is non-transferable unless assigned to someone traveling with the original eCredit owner on the same reservation at the time the eCredit is being redeemed. Delta assumes no responsibility for unauthorized use of the eCredit by any person who presents it for redemption. A maximum of one eCredit per passenger may be applied and used on one ticket.

Sale/Barter Prohibited: eCredit may not be sold, bartered, duplicated or altered by the Owner or any designee. eCredit or ticket obtained through prohibited sale/barter/duplication transactions are void and will not be honored or travel permitted.
Could just be standard language, not sure if it's enforced.

Probably standard language but you can technically book the seller on the same booking then cancel the sellers ticket.

I flew IB J MAD-JFK and they had a power outage that shut down the IFE and lasted for close to an hour.

Is it worth the bother to call? Would they give anything significant?

I booked a ticket from Israel to New York. It was a 9AM flight to land in JFK 2PM EST. I thought that would be enough time to get in after luggage and everything for Shabbas because I live only 30 min from JFK.
However, right before boarding I realized my flight was going to Newark not JFK. I was so confused I thought I had made a mistake in booking my ticket so I quickly got on my computer and checked and saw I did in fact book a ticket to JFK not Newark. So I quickly ran to the boarding desk and told them that I had booked my ticket to JFK not Newark. They told me that a few hours prior to the flight the JFK flight was cancelled and they put everyone on the JFK flight onto the Newark flight, which was leaving at the same time.
The only problem was, was that I live very far from Newark and I had planned for someone to meet me at JFK not Newark and I couldn't find anyone to pick me up from there so close to shabbas with Friday rush hour traffic. I kept complaining to the lady and she kept telling me there is nothing we can do.
I ended up getting on the flight and thanks to global entry I was outa there quickly an took public transportation to get home and I got home minuted before Shabbas. This was absolutely outrageous to me. It's one thing to switch my flight to a different flight to JFK, but to completely switch me to another airport/ another state without even telling me, absolutely outrageous. Especially ELAL who apparently is so sensitive to "Jewish tradition" didn't care about people's plans for shabbas.

Any advice on what I can do for compensation?
Thanks!

It's worth a call. I had a similar experience once when I had an 11pm flight LAX-CDG-TLV that left Saturday night. It was tricky because it was the only flight I could find that left late enough to be after Shabbos, but early enough to land in Israel in time for me to be where I needed to be on Monday.

Shabbos ends, and I check my phone, and there are 3 messages from Air France, all from during Shabbos Fri/Sat: the flight was cancelled, they needed me to call to rebook, and then finally they said they rebooked me for 2pm on Shabbos! So now I had missed my flight, and there was nobody on the phone who could tell me what to do next.

I ended up going to the airport and making a stink, and they got me finally onto another airline that allowed me to make it to my destination in time. But I regret not asking for further compensation as I lost an E+ seat that was paid for. Before I knew about Dan's site.

Anyway, call them, what do you have to lose?

I got my bag in what I thought was less than 20 minutes from DL, but tried my luck with the 2.5k miles and scored. Is it possible that it's just not enforced?

Am I entitled to (or can I expect some if I ask for it) compensation for a 4 hour and 50 minute delay on AA not due to weather? I think they cited air traffic as the reason for the delay.

No. Can you ask? Yes. Will you get? Ymmv. Claim how the delay wasn't communicated well and that significantly impacted your trip.

Do they have specific timing to be eligible for coverage? 6hrs would do?

It's all up to the rep. They don't have to give you anything and usually don't

Anyone have a good email or contact for Cathay other than their online form?

Botched check-in, late flight, raw meal, broken seat, broken entertainment system, purser doing nothing to solve the issues.

After 40 or more great Cathay flights I guess I got every problem all at once.

Better than getting it on five different flights, at least it's over for 40 flights now.

Was scheduled to take a jetblue flight from NY to Florida a few days before pesach. Flight ended up getting canceled bc after 3 hours of telling us "the pilot is on his way", he ended up timing out. The pilot was at the wrong airport. Not sure if he showed up at the wrong airport accidentally or his flight got diverted.  Had to wait three days till a flight had available seats to fly us down.  Jetblue gave everyone $100 jetblue credit.  compensation Seems really weak to me..we missed out on 3 days of our vacation bc the pilot timed out..suggestions what you think is fair to ask for?

Sent a submission through the online complaint form  and via email to Marco Polo Club.   Recieved a response in about 30 hours although not sure from which channel.

Received 10,000 Asia Miles

That's sounds much worse than an airline compensation problem.

Regular occurrence unfortunately when booking Asian carriers on Delta. Try calling Delta and have them conference in Air China.
