I guess I got lucky :D

I told the rep I'm not okay with this increase, and the Sprint Nav which is ending 10/1. I've been a customer for 10 years (I really have) and over time my service has gotten worse (compared to whatever else is out there) while my plan has gotten more expensive, I just want out and the two cost increases (administrative fee and SprintNav) are my excuse to get out of contract. She threw the usual rebuttals at me ("what can we do to keep you as a customer") and I insisted I want out, she made me repeat the shpiel to a supervisor who waived my ETF on the remaining two lines.

Now the real question is: VZW, or T-Mobile? The former will give me better service, but the latter will be much cheaper...
How did you not lose your phone number that way?

A big fyi.
I just got out of my 8 contracts with Sprint without paying ETFs. I received a letter stating that Sprint navigation will be discontinued as of October 1st. I called them and told them I want out because they breached the contract and they let me go (after a short negotiation).

Congrats!

Switching to VZW has hurt my pocket but it's such a pleasure to have awesome CS, cell, and data service.
awesome CS can be debated. The rest depends on where you use the phone.

Yes. When I did it they didn't say it will shut on its own.
They would rather it stays open

So you're basically saying I can have a convo tonight with them and take off the fees (which isn't anything better than a note in the account if not closing at this time) and shop around for a month for a new plan and use Sprint pay as I go till I find what I want?

I would only recommend it if you're not using BB or 4G phones.

Took me half an hour with 2 reps and a supt to get my ETF waived.
Used the no servive 4G WiMAX tool.
Rep only wanted to credit $25 and I should return my phone...
Supt asked what he can do I should stay by Sprint...

Would this argument work for dumbphones on contract, or only smartphones?

IME the contract  rates remained in place until I actually called to cancel. They just waived the remaining months. When you check online it says months remaining 0. However when canceling they will prorate and issue a check for refund. If your billing cycle is the  15th, you call to cancel on the 5th and it will auto terminate on the 15th. If you port out prior to the 15th you will NOT receive a refund

It's official! :D

What do you say, should I get 4x iPhone 5S and just pay the $350 ETF, or not worth the hassle?

Not worth it. Besides they still haven't shipped my order from almost 2 weeks ago.
