Don't fell stupid.  The article did a horrible job explaining anything about quantum physics and therefore just glossed over anything of substance.

As a rule of thumb, if you don't understand something 'science-y', check Youtube. There are a ton of fantastic science-focused channels, with all sorts of approaches to educating - you're bound to find something suitable.

Just to name a few I'm fond of: Vsauce, Veritasium, Smarter Every day, Minute Earth/Physics, Kurzgesagt, Sci Show.
