-If you plan on using public transportation, get an Oyster card. They are much cheaper and easier to use than conventional travel cards, and never expire. They can be bought in many stores in London, or online. These days one can use contactless credit cards instead of Oyster.(Check here to see if your foreign contactless card will work.)

-Here is a handy planner for the public transport system.

-DD's Kosher Sandwiches can be bought in most major airports/stations. Here is a list of locations.

-Kosher in the West End/City - Selfridges food hall has a variety of kosher groceries and prepackaged ready food by 1701. 1701 also have a deli counter there. It's nice, depending on the weather (which is very unpredictable there....). On a cloudy day your view will be something like this:

If you're into museums, visit the Imperial War Museum (which is about a 15 minute walk from Big Ben/London Eye). It has some amazing exhibits, and although it focuses somewhat on British wars, it has the most amazing and touching Holocaust Exhibition. Many people that have been there have said it's as good, if not better than Yad Vashem.... (And best of all, it's free!)

For lunch you could either travel in to one of the Jewish areas, or try the new Isola Bella in the Westfield shopping center.

Any menu online?
How's underground access there?

I'm wondering if I should just enjoy the F lounges and stay in LHR until the wedding at 5 or so which is at an LHR hotel.

Seems extreme to travel 6 hours RT via public transport.
I'd only have a couple hours there to spend.

I'm not sure about the menu, but Westfield is easily accessible from both Shepherds Bush and White City Station.

But you always have the option of hanging around LHR.......

How much will it cost/how long will it take to get there from LHR?
Anything else to do there?

I'm not sure how far it is by tube, probably around 40 minutes, but I haven't the faintest how much tickets cost nowadays....
Westfield is basically a new, very fancy mall with loads of interesting and designer stores. Also, they're going to have an indoor ice-skating rink through Nov/Dec if you enjoy that kinda thing...

it's a pretty boring Iv'e been on it. It's basically a ride where you get stuck looking at a view of london for a half hour, after 3 min you are bored.
