At same value, or 50% of the value? If the latter then that might be the simpler way to go (rather than having to find easily refundable tickets for a specific amount).

Well I'm still a noob when it comes to booking infant international tickets, but I think I know what I need to do now.

What I was going to do:
2 adults and 1 infant for CLE-EZE in AA F:
250K AA miles + $1,042.30 ($70.65+$70.65+$901)

What I now plan on doing:
125K AA miles + $70.65 and 174K or 177K BA Avios (150K+15K+9K or 12K) + $161.95 (of which $66.80 will be disputed as it's being incorrectly/illegally collected bringing the BA taxes down to $95.15)

In other words spending about 175K BA Avios instead of 125K AA miles will save me $876.50 as BA charges 10% of the miles of the international segments instead of 10% of the full paid fare from the entire itinerary.

Make sense at all?

FWIU they charge 10% of the miles which is alot less that 10% of the official rate in hard currency premium cabins.
