Drive them up the walls, tell them your moving and give them a zipcode like 12701 where it wont work besides for roaming, some times thy ask for proof such as a bill but hang up and try again, i got away with it on ATT and switched to crappy Sprint.

IIRC, I had reception in 12701, and that was years ago...

You do have reception there, but the thing is it cost them more to have you cause it's on roaming most the time, i got off the contract with 12701 that's what i know.

How does this hanging-up-calling-again thing work, I think they keep a note of every conversation and the next rep that you speak to looks through the notes. Dont they just catch on that your calling over and over?

The reps don't write down everything they say. So when the rep asks for something, just hang up and call again, the next rep will just see that you said that you are moving to xxxxx and will start from there.

even if they do see the notes tell them you got disconected , or simply that you never said that the rep made it up , this applies to everything.

Its easier to just call about other stuff and ask them to note it, this way if clutters your notes and the rep won't see the note you don't want them to see (since it won't be the most recent note). Either way, with Sprint it's likely you won't have a problem, since half the reps don't write notes, and out of those that do, half don't read them...

Take that back half way. with sprint's new billing system thy note every little word you say, thy just type as you talk, its very hard to play around in the new billing system.

I am (really!) moving overseas, will they cancel my contract for free?
Also, I am going first to visit, can I put my contract on hold for awhile?

I just spoke to ATT about this and they said they will waive the ETF as long as you provide a utility bill in your name in the new place you live. A cell phone bill should be good too.

At least with att if you tell them you are going to serve the country, and your going to a place where att has no service (afganistan) all you need to tell them is ur position (marine....) And where you will be based out of and they will freeze your contract for free
