United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

On a flight to Israel, do you get 2 free bags with this card, since every passenger automatically get the first bag free?

Do you think they will undo my credit ?

Thank you for contacting Chase regarding the MileagePlus
credit card account. Please accept our apologies for the
delay in responding to your message.

Review of the account shows it was open in February of
2011. Chase does attempt to match better offers when
requested within 90 days of account approval. I can only
assume when the previous representative reviewed your
account and issued the statement credit she was thinking
it was opened in February 2012 instead of 2011. Since the
account has been open over a year it does not qualify for
the better premium and I cannot issue the additional 5,000
miles.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

I see the 65k offer in my UA account available, but I don't see anywhere about the $50 statement credit. Is it automatic after adding an AU?

When logging into my united account i get the 65k offer, the only thing is, if i were to apply through united it would automaticaly fill my united #. Being that i have had a united card  (although not explorer) in the past affiliated with that frequent flyer number would it shter the churn?

The 65k offer is very easy to get matched to. You can use Dans link and then request a match.

Its 25k plus 5k for adding an AU. Chase will add an additional 25k when requested the to be matched. The additional 10k is for spending $10k in one year.

I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. I called chase SCR with my "correct" ff number and they forwarded the info to the marketing dept.

I ended up getting the miles  :)

How long ago did you/your husband apply?

I called right after I got approved/right after I got off the phone recon.
