How is New Orleans with younger kids. Thinking of going for a couple days late in the year with my 6 year old, are there things to do for kids (WWII museum would not interest her), or would you need a car for that?
Not worth renting a car at all

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency, and while not in the FQ, it was a nice hotel and not far at all to walk there. Plus you avoid all the noise and drunk people in the FQ by staying in the CBD which is empty at night.

I was in downtown New Orleans for a business trip this week. I stayed at the intercon- very very nice hotel!
In terms of ordthodox minyanim
Mincha / maariv ( no shacris) is that he chabad in Metairie
Shacris ( no mincha and maariv) is at 7 at the on freret street

For kosher food downtown - waffles on maple is on uber eats

I went to Casablanca for dinner , 1.3 miles from the chabad of Metairie- both service and food were excellent

New to DDF so forgive me if this was addressed already. I'm staying near the convention center in NOLA. Is there a shul in walking distance that has a minyan on Shabbos?

Going with young child for 3+ days to New Orleans next December (yes very far away) - room rates seem very cheap that time of year and not worth the regular amount of points in normal programs. I have some points that convert to cash equivalent so thinking of spending those - would like to just use Ubers and public transportation, but would like to have easy access to kosher food (Waffles on Maple, Casablanca, kosher Cajun, Kosher Cafe du Monde) but would really like to just stay in one hotel for 3 nights, and then an airport hotel for the last night (as we have a very early flight out) - any recommendations for hotel that would be easiest to access food? Have 2-3 Hyatt annual nights so might make sense to use those at one of the hotels and combine all 3 for 1 stay, but as it's far away, haven't decided yet. Thoughts?

Has anyone here done New Orleans with smaller kids, that I can message some questions to. Going in December and trying to figure out the best way to navigate - would like nicer hotel with indoor pool, something not too far to Kosher food or where Uber Eats delivers to, and some attractions that would work which aren't too pricey without a car. Would love free breakfast also. Or has anyone done it with a car and stayed in Metairie somewhere which had free parking and an indoor pool. Looking for a nicer hotel, the time we're going has very nice hotels for very cheap, as it's around Christmas time. Thanks.
