WSJ woke up... On the Credit Card Fat reward offers
« on: March 24, 2012, 08:49:51 PM »
As I was reading through today's Wall Journal (credit of course to Master Dan for the free subscription  ;D ..),  the following article in their business and finance paper caught my eye..

Although most of the content is already known to us DDFrs, I still found some helpful tips and comments from the financial institutions

I guess what I'm trying to say that we can expose them (wsj) to the fact of A/A as well.
We were looking to get some media attention for this issue for quite a while yet..

sounds like a nice idea, but its probably about .0001% that got a/a, i dont think a respectable news outlet would cover somthing that affects .0001% of its clients

I happen to disagree with you.. If it would've been just a review (F/R). I wouldn't expect them to publicize it.. What we're talking here is pure injustice and wrong doing.. Closing all accounts without the right to explain/appeal and most awefully without any prior notification?!..

Doesn't matter if it's 0.000001% or 10-20%.. I would refer to it as a SCANDAL..

In any case, I just threw it in here but the A/A issue actually belongs in the designated thread

I and every lised in my parents' household got closed down 2 years ago. i've not been successful in getting them to approve
another card since, although i've gotten from amex and citi many times. they claimed to us that we had too much credit available at our address,
but now i am thinking that they must have blacklisted us, maybe for churning.
what scum they are.
every time i try to apply they have another reason to decline but always add that i can always apply down the line

This should be moved to the chase A/A thread.
But how are you supposed to prevent having a hight credit line? close some cards?

I don’t think drawing attention to what some members do (cash back, churning) would be a good idea.

Can't believe people have the gall to complain (and even want to publicize!) that they got busted circumventing the rules. Don't act like you thought everything was on the up and up. You took a risk to get a reward and got busted. Sucks. But that's what a risk is. Not saying you shouldn't try to fight these things, but you honestly feel Chase is "scum" and perpetrating "injustice" and causing a "scandal"?!

Don’t assume that everyone who has had their accounts closed circumvented the rules. This is not the case!!!

Gotcha. There are risks involved and if you get caught it is just best to move on.
