Does it pay to redeem TY Points for the 1.6 redemption with the citi prestige card?  It is going down to 1.25 soon and I am wondering if it pays to hold onto the points as you can have better transfer options?

Every situation will be different.

Spoke with CSR about closing my ty preferred, and she told me I have 60 days after closing to still use my points. Can anyone confirm this? Probably wouldn't ROPR for this without other dp's

True. points earned by the card is tied to the card, and expires 60 days after account closure.

If you have other TY point earning cards, you can combine the points for redemption, but they don't pool like UR/MR and will still expire 60 days after account closure.

TY preferred is a free card, why not keep it open until you use up all the points?

depends on how else you were going to redeem it and what value you'll get, ie: transfer to SQ Krisflyer. But 1.6 is reasonable value.

if you just want to hold on to the points for a future date, you can downgrade to TY preferred, and upgrade later when you want to redeem. otherwise transfer it out / redeem before closing.

if you've had decent spend, maybe try to get a retention offer.

Per this, True Blue and Flying Blue are instant:

I need to move out 60k- I'm closing out my prestige card. Is Singapore still my best option to park the points?

In line with Citi losing the Hilton cards, Thank You points will no longer transfer to HH after dec 13th.

Per OMAAT, Avianca lifemiles has now been added as a Citi TY partner, points convert 1:1, good for short haul United flights and many other redemptions.
