I heard it's okay, the beauty of it is that they don't usually blow up their own airplanes.

If you are getting out of the airport, I'd be careful, as they are a bit agitated in this region right now.

I flew Turkish Airlines last week, and I'm still writing on the forum...    ;D

was going in Biz JFK-AMM-TLV luckly ElAl opened up but in Coach

I had no qualms flying with RJ only didnt like the 5 hr layover @ AMM , but it seems their Biz is  Great

If they had a much shorter layover Id do it or it thats all that was avaialble for Miles

Done TK as well, but prefer after what the Govt is UP over there not to give them any of my $$$. the flights were great, only bad thing was the K rations they gave me as food IST-TLV & IST-JFK definitely bring your oown food along for the IST-JFK flight

This TLV-IST routing is indeed bad, especially the food.

There was on date stamped on it, as if it were produced the same day that I got it served.

When I returned the box of KSML in almost mint condition, and I told that it tasted &@&%, she said, that it proves that it was prepared the same day.

So I asked her, how they managed to make a roll hard like a rock within one day....

About the government, its a bit like Iran; the biggest part of the country is "normal", its just the smaller percentage of fundamentalists that rule.

On longhauls, they are supposed to have magnificent upper classes, as they bought their planes of jet airways.

When staying overnight in IST flying first, you would get a free night at a 4-5* hotel.

When arriving in the morning and leaving in the afternoon, you get free tours throughout the city (no matter what class you are flying).

JFK-AMM is 9,235 kms.
AMM-TLV is 109 kms.
Just saying...

And Royal Jordanian probably has great availability around Jewish holidays!
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

actually having flown in from JFK 2 1/2 hrs earlier it didnt bother me not eating especially since its all of a 45 min flight and food awaiting me in JRS

the problem was IST-JFK since you dont get much out of TLV it meant basically not eating the whole day

Flying Jordanian Air To Amman to TLV
« Reply #12 on: July 29, 2010, 12:32:03 PM »
I saw this posted on the Nefesh B' Nefesh List and I thought people here would be interested:

    Has anyone flown Jordanian Air?

Does anyone have experience flying Jordanian Air? Because of the price, I am contemplating a JFK-Amman-TLV ticket. Do they offer kosher food? How out of place would a dedicated Jew feel?

    Thank you.

    Jonathan,
I flew JFK-Amman-TLV with Jordanian Air just this past Pesach, and for the same exact reason. I wouldn't say I felt out of place, though I had to spend 5 hours at the Amman airport waiting for the connecting flight to TLV. It was an interesting experience, but nothing frightening at all. As to kosher food, B''H I brought nosh with me (nuts, crackers, chocolates, fruit), because the food they gave us on the plane was frozen solid, and inedible. So, if you come prepared and are not hard set on a hot gourmet meal, then it's worth the savings you get.
    B'Hatzlacha.

there is no such airline as Jordanian Air (sort of like looking for United States Air) next time try its name = Royal Jordanian

Dan or aMod can U change the Carriers name in the Title to the correct one and maybe even move it to the other thread

I flew RJ from Tel Aviv to Amman and had no problem. I went to Amman, Petra with wife and kid incl tefillin, was no hassle. I would say its 100% save to travel through Amman airport.
