does anyone know if there is a cc in Australia that rewards withh AA points and miles.

I completely agree with your wanting aa points down under, as all those expensive 400 dollar domestic Australia qantas flights go for 10k aa miles.

considering aa doesnt fly to australia, why would they team up with an aussie bank?

You can also use BA miles for Intra-Australia flights and there are cards that earn those with no forex fees.

There are very few CCs in Australia that reward miles for foreign airlines, and even the few that exist, a lot only give very low mileage like 0.5 miles per dollar
