Combining paid tickets
« on: April 29, 2012, 07:54:49 PM »
i'm looking to buy a flight with LAN from south america to NYC, i searched a bit and found that it would be much cheaper to buy a flight to MIA and then buy another round trip from MIA to NYC on AA, is it possible to buy or reserve them and combining them somehow to be 1 itenerary that way its much less of a headache?

No way to combine.

Is it ever possible? If same airline?

No need to combine. Book 2 seperate tickets, and at checkin, ask the gate agent to check you in all the the way.

this would probably be the best thing to do, the question is could LAN check me in with AA.
If i do get checked in would that be considered 1 trip regarding if the 1st part gets delayed for them to rebook me on the next flight?

Lan could check you in to AA. they have baggage agreements. I have done this a lot of times with Cathay and AA, or BA, nobody gives you a problem.
Regarding delayed baggage, if you can claim insurance, that would be a interesting question. would love to hear anybody with experiance.
