Thanks , this is very helpful. Do you know if the Sheraton LA Jolla is any better? Or other spg recommendation ?

In my research I found other point places, like Hilton etc... to be better and nicer then the SPG options, one exception was La Jolla one which the advantage of staying there was it was right next the shul.

Save SPG points for another city.

Not sure if you have any Hyatt points... but we had a good experience at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay and was very happy. You need to request to stay in the newly renovated section and your good.

Is it nicer than the LA Jolla location? Not being there over shabbos so don't need the location specifically

Are you going with kids? La Jolla rooms are nicer but Mission Bay has better amenities - pools with slides, etc.

No kids, want a nice hotel with a central location.

+1
They have alot of rides by the pool
In addition, the staff was very nice & they upgraded us to the penthouse & waived the parking fee

You'd recommend this one over La Jolla Hyatt Regency?

Haven't stayed In La Jolla, but I would definitely recommend HRMB. I wouldn't grade it as 5 star, but for $100 (free night-including parking) & a upgrade to the penthouse, how bad can you go.......

True, no guarantee, but all it took was an email to the manager that's it's our honeymoon/anniversary..........

I had the parking fee waived along with an upgrade on a hotwire rate reservation. The staff was very nice and after thanking the manager she offered us a $50 lunch at the restaurant there.

Some water sports are included as well.

Over all it was a nice experience.

I went to San  Diego from Monday evening until Motzai Shabbos in Ferbuary. Thank you for all your help.  I stayed at the Sheraton La Jolla. It is very nice and a 2 minute walk to the Marriot Residence Inn or a 15 minute walk to local shul for shabbos daveing. On shabbos they opened the door to my room for me. Some of the lights in the room go off on a sensor. Other lights stay on the entire time. If you go for shabbos then find out what light work with the sensor. None of the lights will go on, on the sensor. If I go again then I would stay again at the Sheraton La Jolla. Ralp's take out has a large selection of kosher food, much larger than I expected. It had 5 different types of main dishes, 5 different salads , and 8 different types of side dishes. They also had sushi, franks, hot dogs and full shabbos menu. I went Tuesday and Thursday to Ralp's, when I went Thursday the menu was different then Tuesday.  The food was really good.
On Tuesday we went to sea world. It was great because their was no lines in the park. On Wednesday we went to Anza-Borrego desert state park. When we got there they told us that the best hikes take 2 hours to walk or you could go on a jeep tour that you need to reserve at least one day in advance. Since we did not want to talk for 2 hours and we did not reserve a jeep tour we just turned out and went back to the hotel. On Thursday we went to shell beach and children's beach.  We saw the seals and the sea lions resting on the beach. Afterwards we went to Cabrillo National monument and tide pools. On Friday we went to Torrey Pines State Reserve, we had a nice time hiking over there. On Shabbos we went to Chabad minyan  at the Residence Inn. It was very nice. Shabbos morning, after davening, they had a full kiddish including salads and hot chulent and nice people. We had really nice times at everything that we did except for Anza-Borrego. Thank You for all you information. It really helped me.

I always felt safe in LA Jolla. The weather was beautiful.  In the morning until 10:00am and in the evening I needed a sweater.

Sea World or San Diego Zoo?
San Diego zoo has the Panda and the Zipline. Other then that it's a regular zoo.

Sea world is more like a park with shows and rides.

Sea world. I hated the zoo, it's a lot of walking for nothing special.
